This might be good inspiration.
When you test offers with a new campaign, what percentage of them are unprofitable. I've heard that you should expect anywhere from 50-90% of campaigns to fail, but it would be nice to get some actual numbers, especially if some of the more experienced affiliates answer.

Thanks. I already knew that most of my campaigns fail, but since misery loves company, this was a good poll.

It is also good for newbies to see that learning to fail faster to get to the good campaigns is a business plan too.
 
I think around 30-70% is reasonable. I don't really get how your failing over 70%. I think that means your not planning well or not putting the time in.

Just my 2 cents.

Well, I think almost any campaign can be forced to work if you spend enough time on it. I mess with my best campaigns daily.

MHO. It is about deciding when to keep working and when to cut lose.

But my own failure rate is higher then my success rate. The ones that are working are sweet.

I certainly have a lot to learn though.
 
Mine is high but I only started trying this about 2 months ago and I am still learning. Made some dumb mistakes along the way.
 
I agree that almost all campaigns can be forced to become winners with enough tweaking, but may not be worth the time/effort resulting in a high % of "fails"

Definitely agree with this... most of those aren't even worth it when in the time you try to get a bad campaign running you could be working on two or three more.
 
I voted all of them, because the one time I tried several campaigns, i failed miserably in all of them, promoting clickbank ebooks.

Now that I know more about stuff like typos, geographical targeting and etc. to get cheaper clicks, it'll probably be easier to start a profitable campaign.
 
Even though campaigns fail you hope to have some winners cover those costs of playing the game. Win or lose it would be an interesting poll to know ROI on those spending $1k, $2k, $5k, $10k, $20k, ... and see the breakdown in profit % wise. You hear about people making good money (eg. $100k a month) but factor in their costs and time and how did they really fare?
 
I have had almost 0% failure rate. Everything I've promoted online has made more money than I put into it. The only thing that failed for me is those school offers, but I haven't really put any effort into, don't even have a ppc campaign.

From my experience, the best way to make money in anything is to have an edge over the competition. And I don't mean anything like cheating adwords or something that's foul. But actually thinking to yourself how can I promote this offer in away that the competition can't or in away that is better than what the competition is doing. This could be as simple as making a better landing page or complex as making a whole new platform to sell that product.
 
The funny thing is I used to sell ATM units in my lat year of highschool as my part timer. I could have literally had my own personal ATM for $200 heheh

Haha, very nice. I was trying to think of a catchy line to advertise that link..and it turned out really corny. But it is racking in around 27 unique hits a day.

That sounds like putting extra effort in -- and that's usually what makes a project or a campaign work. Still you get duds I'm sure.... once you factor in your time.
