What Really Causes Heart Disease?

TLDR minimize consumption of:
Quite simply, they are the overload of simple, highly processed carbohydrates (sugar, flour and all the products made from them) and the excess consumption of omega-6 vegetable oils like soybean, corn and sunflower that are found in many processed foods.

I hope that it's just a matter of time now that doctors will stop prescribing statins and start telling their patients to lay off the damn snack Wells. Kind of funny how products like snack Wells that are promoted as heart healthy are actually the likely cause of today's heart attacks.

As for me, my new rule of thumb is this. for the most part, don't shop down the center aisles. Shop around outside of a grocery store where all the whole vegetables, meats, and dairy is. if you can spend the time to cook, just fucking do it.

"World Renowned" surgeon. Revoked medical license.

A Skeptical Look at Dwight Lundell, M.D.

I don't really care that he had his license revoked (if that's true), bc I know from my own research and experience that what he currently espouses is 100% true. And you can't argue the fact that despite the low fat diet craze that's been accepted as truth for the last few decades, heart disease is still a growing epidemic.

Good start, but not going to cut it. All of the veggies are GMO, and all of the meat and dairy animals were fed a diet consisting mostly of the same key ingredient that you're trying to avoid in the middle of the store: GMO corn.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. GMO corn is the root of most of the disease epidemics we face.

Also, you not only have to watch what you eat, you have to watch what you eat has eaten. Corn fed beef has far higher omega 6 ratios than grass fed beef. You are indirectly eating the very shit you are trying to avoid. Fuck, even salmon is corn fed now. Fucking salmon. That bright red color that represents the healthy omega 3s, isn't even real, it's dye. Farm raised salmon is bleach whitish in color, compare that to wild caught salmon that has a natural rich red color to it.

Find a farm. Eat grass fed beef. Wild game. Raw milk. Free range eggs and chickens. Cut the chemicals and corn out of your diet or you will have cancer, heart disease, arthritis, etc in your later years.

It's pretty fucking simple, yet people either aren't smart enough to realize it, or refuse to believe it and resort back to flawed scientific studies done by the same people who subsidize the corn industry so heavily, to refute these points and support the traditional American diet.

Good luck bros. Not getting into another fucking WF food debate. It's pointless. Eat what you want.

Nope, wrong.
lol 4 of the top 9 factors "increasing" risk of heart disease are diet related

Coronary heart disease - PubMed Health
Many things increase your risk for heart disease:

  • Diabetes is a strong risk factor for heart disease.
  • High blood pressure increases your risks of heart disease and heart failure.
  • Extra cholesterol in your blood builds up inside the walls of your heart's arteries (blood vessels).
  • Smokers have a much higher risk of heart disease.
  • Chronic kidney disease can increase your risk.
  • People with narrowed arteries in another part of the body (examples are stroke and poor blood flow to the legs) are more likely to have heart disease.
  • Substance abuse (such as cocaine)
  • Being overweight
  • Not getting enough exercise, and feeling depressed or having excess stress are other risk factors.

Nutrition is important to your heart health, and it will help control some of your heart disease risk factors. See also: Heart disease and diet

  • Choose a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
  • Choose lean proteins, such as chicken, fish, beans, and legumes.
  • Eat low-fat dairy products, such as 1% milk and low-fat yogurt.
  • Avoid sodium (salt) and fats found in fried foods, processed foods, and baked goods.
  • Eat fewer animal products that contain cheese, cream, or eggs.
  • Read labels, and stay away from "saturated fat" and anything that contains "partially-hydrogenated" or "hydrogenated" fats. These products are usually loaded with unhealthy fats.
Processed foods, refined sugars, low nutrient foods must not have anything to do with the situation.

50/50 chance of getting heart disease in the US. Why not in every country? inb4 genes

Some contradiction here. Lay off sugar, but eat fruit? Fruit is loaded with sugars that are processed by the body the exact same.

Any micronutrients come with that corn syrup? Something processed to the point it can sit for months in a bottle or bag is the same as a fresh piece of fruit that was just recently growing vigorously?

I can tell you that I can get lean as fuck eating fruit, but wouldn't have a chance in hell eating refined sugars. A calorie is not a calorie, a sugar is not a sugar, a fat is not a fat, etc..

I don't think you know how chemistry works. Glucose is glucose, whether refined or not. Yeah I know HFCS is different. Lipids are lipids (fats), and you can have the exact same content in refined or natural, yes I know trans fats are different too. This is like the GMO argument, full of fake science and hippies being stupid.

You will still get fat eating a fuck ton of fruit. High sugar, causes insulin spikes. It especially goes for drinking juice, no matter how organic it is.

The glycemic load of fruits is low (many fruits contain a lot of water weight) and because the presence of fiber slows down digestion. Also, the presence of acid in acidic citrus fruits retards emptying of the stomach and thus slows the absorption of the sugar into the blood stream.

There's nothing inherently wrong with genetically modified food. Do you think the "natural"/non-GMO stuff isn't genetically modified through selective breeding that's going on for centuries?

This. Anyone arguing against GMO is willfully ignorant of science and wants higher rates of starvation and hunger. GMO can save lives.

So eating an avocado is exactly the same as eating a tablespoon of vegetable/peanut oil or lard?

Giving your body shots of refined glucose creates the same enzymes and process for your body to utilize it?

Taking a vitamin D pill is an equal substitute for sunlight?

Adding sugar to products that shouldn't normally have it if you make it yourself, to adjust the taste for their shitty ingredients, is good for us?

I know I sure dump a cup+ of sugar or corn syrup on my fresh salsas and fruit salads when I make them. Salad dressings too!

Micronutrients don't exist?

I get what you're saying, and I do agree that sugars get broken down the same, but you are not taking into account fiber. I would most definitely avoid fruit juices, as that is nothing but fruit with the fiber taken out. But if you were to eat say a whole apple, you are getting the fiber which causes the sugar to be broken down as a slower pace, and creating a slow insulin rise, as opposed to a spike.
