I am having a problem keeping organized with all of my "to dos" for the day. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good to do list software for Windows? Should I be using outlook for this or is there a better way?

Thanks, feeling a little overwhelmed.

Online app or desktop software based ?

Todolist, tadalist,Evernote, task coach are just a few.

Chances are your time management system is severely lacking.

Are you employing Getting Things Done or Agile Results? If the answer is no, look into that.

For an app, notepad++ or Workflowy can work great.

Go oldschool and get a whiteboard and set up a mini scrum board on it. I usually do weekly to-do lists as it's more realistic, but you can do this daily as well.

PS this has nothing to with the scrum/agile programing methodology, but I think their way of organizing projects and the tasks that make up projects is very

clever.

I use one called Action Machine. It's not for everyone since it acts almost a bit like a controlling boss, and it's a bit weak for managing longer term items, but it definitely boosted my productivity

Four free programs:

I use Wunderlist for tasks. I use it like I would a sheet of paper, just writing down reminders of dozens of little jobs and tasks I'd otherwise forget.

For breaking down ongoing projects into component tasks (Eg. building out a site), I tend to use mind-mapping software rather than to-do lists, and recently I've started using Gantt charts to try to make sure I stay on target over several weeks/months. I like Xmind for mind mapping, but if you don't mind cracked then ConceptDraw is hard to beat.

For my daily schedule, I'm trying Interactive Calendar It has a to-do list interface, but the output is to a calendar which is embedded into your desktop. The problem with Outlook's calendar and tasklist was that I never looked at it enough. This way, my list of tasks for the day is hard to ignore, because it's my wallpaper.

Finally, for timing/tracking today's tasks, I use WatchMe. It's not the nicest looking clock, but it's great for listing all your tasks for the day and timing them all, a little like 'action machine' mentioned above.

google tasks that comes with gmail.

no matter what computer im at or what phone i have (had iphone- now on samsung) if you can connect to your gmail you can also load the task manager.

simple, effective and accessible while on the go and from any device.
1. create an item
2. check it off when you complete it and let it sit on your list so you get a sense
of accomplishment knowing that you completed it
3. delete it off the list forever once you feel that satisfaction is complete
