alrite so i have a profitable campaign running right now, and im just trying to optimize ... i have epcs ranging from 2.50 to 1.75 and my cpc ranges from .70-1.20 ... thats giving me at least a .50 profit on every click which is good

but to the guys that have been around a while, is there a general rule of thumb when it comes time to kill a campaign due to the EPC?

uhhhhh.... not even sure why im replying but obviously you know it totally depends on how much you're paying for the traffic...

And how much cash you have on hand, and if you have other more profitable ways to use your money.

This is just common sense.

Any EPC that is over your CPC is profit, so if the EPC is over my CPC I will run it.

Maybe the most retarded thread of all time. If EPC-CPC = positive number, keep running the campaign. It's not fucking rocket surgery.

lol alrite .. i just wasn't sure if you stopped if you were only making like .20 cents per click or not

Agreed.

Why the fuck would you want to stop a magical money making campaign?

Like, everytime you put money in it you get more back. And you're like "I'll just stop this shit, I'm not getting enough PROFIT"

Also, consider this:

epc at $0.08 while paying $0.04 is 100% ROI. You're doubling your money everytime. So epc doesn't mean shit, it's irrelevant number.

so what should i be focusing on .. epc, conversion rate, cpc, to determine if i should keep it or not

your saying epc is irrelevant, but if your epc is 1.00 and your cpc is .50, your getting 100% roi, so wouldnt epc be very relevant?

if i'm not making at least eleventy dollars per hundred thousand ad showings i call google and tell them to put all my traffic to yahoo.

Looking at it from the perspective "What's the EPC I need to keep this campaign?" it's totally useless.

HOWEVER, of course EPC/ROI are essential at optimization, so yes, those indicators are both important in the overall campaign management.

I'm always monitoring EPC and profit. Sometimes you'll get better EPC on a campaign but the volume will get lower (in PPC) and it'll hurt your bottom line profit. So the important thing here is to really understand how these indicators affect each others so that you can know if you're improving your campaign or making it worse.

Now of course, if your ROI is 10% at a campaign you can't scale and need to work inhumanly on it, you need to ask yourself if the return is worth it - common sense stuff.

well right now i'm direct linking to the offer, and im just trying to determine which ads to keep and which to ditch ... i'm using FB so my CTR is dropping daily which is bringing my cpc up, but i'm deciding now that as long as my EPC is higher than the CPC i'll keep the ad running, if its the same or lower .. i ditch it

i guess its common sense but i just started to realize it .. before i was just looking at how much i was spending vs how much i was making .. but looking at EPC makes a lot more sense and i can trust it .. for some reason i preaviously thought EPC was irrelavent

Have an offer with 0.05 epc, but my CPC is just above 0.01c, so of course I'll keep running it. The only difficulty is pushing volume in those kinds of situations. Most I've been able to scale to is $100 / day profit, which is decent, especially since the campaign / CTR is stable, but I would still prefer to be running a bizz op/acai.
