When is the Iphone & ATT Exclusive Deal Up?

I really want a nice internet enabled phone with good interface but need to stay on verizon. Will i be waiting till im old and wrinkly?

Att has a 10 year contract with Apple. So you are looking at around 8 more years.

I heard 5 years, then again you can always take the risk of unlocking it. Too bad I'm with Verizon and they are CDMA. Iphone 2 ftw

Verizon turned down the iPhone a couple months before Apple went to AT&T, so I highly doubt the iPhone will ever be on Verizon. By extension, I doubt that Apple will create both a GSM and CMDA radio-enabled iPhone separately, and combining them would make the device unbearably large.

Just because Verizon originally turned them down doesn't mean it will never be on their network. The problem was Verizon and Apple couldn't reach a mutual deal. Apple wanted monthly cell phone fees and Verizon didn't want that or thought they were too high.

Anyways, this totally sucks. I was sure that I remembered them saying they had a 2 year exclusive deal, not 5.

Doesn't necessarily mean that it will ultimately wind up on Verizon, either.
