Been away for a while. I will always come back here tho.. Its just the high concentration of ballers and boobs that draws me in! ha. I ask because i have somthing going on with a guy a long way away. We are working on a site but he has full control over the code / domain etc.. It is a site that there could be more than one of in harmony... Instead of one person having the potential to screw the other over (not saying they will of course)... with the site in their hands.. Do you think in a situation like this that it is better to have one each and help each other out?

Then there is more chance obviously that one will take off and splut the difference. If we are both gonna share the cash from one then no reason we cant do it that way..

U know what i mean?

Thanks.

If you can trust the person then joint ventures are sweet. Need to have good chemistry (no homo).

Lovin the pic btw.

If you're questioning it, then don't do a joint venture. If it was right to do a JV with that person, you'd know it without having to question it.

Oh, and my cardinal rule -- never do business with friends or family. I know many will disagree with me, but that's my rule, and I'm sticking with it. :P

Don't bother with two sites - I assume it would be a duplication of efforts. Either take a chance, or if you don't trust them, then don't do it.

Think i am gona take a chance. He seems straight up. He has said that he will show me some stuff too... Wont take too much time and i will come out knowing more if nothing else. Thanks.

Seven, this rule is so under-rated
Keep your family and business completely seperated
Money and blood don't mix, like two dicks and no bitch
Find yourself in serious shit

He controls the code and the domain and he is going to be showing you some "stuff". Are you two going to share profits 50/50? Because from the limited details given it sounds more like he may expect you to do the bitch work in exchange for him mentoring you.

I feel like at the end of the day, one person has to own the product and another is getting paid to assist.

In an equal partnership, as soon as one person feels the other isn't pulling their weight, it starts to fall apart.

Right now you may not give a shit, but if it makes decent cash that's when things start to get harry.

You need to find a person with the same mindset and complimentary skills.

know what you suck at... and make sure your partner(s) covers those skills :)
