I've had my Football Bio project on the back burner for over a year and a half, and I have been tossing around the idea of changing it from the original conception.
I'd like your opinion.
The Original Plan
At first, Football Bio was meant to be a social network for soccer players and fans. My goal was to build a big community focusing around users' profiles, groups, and blogs about soccer. it would be monetized with a store that sells boots, jerseys, balls, etc.—probably work an affiliate deal with soccer.com.
The focus would be to create a massive amount of soccer-based content and to have a large community of like-minded individuals.

The Updated Plan
What soccer player or fan really cares a whole lot about sharing his passion for soccer on a site without a purpose but to share your passion about a topic? The new concept behind Football Bio would be to really cut down on the content of the site and deliver it as a service to soccer teams as a tool to make communication easier. I for one am on many soccer teams who still organize our games and directions via email, with an evite sent every once in a while for obvious posterity.
Site site will still have personal profile, but will also focus heavily on your team's profile and being able to keep up with your league. Instead of blogs, users get to post short Twitter-like messages to each others, and the news section is all comprised of articles users find the most important, no more mass import of all sorts of feeds.
The new Football Bio would focus on saving teams and its members time, energy, and effort to stay on top of game schedules, game plans, and the news.
