Which one of you is slangin boring-ass books?

Encyclopedias have been sold this way for decades. "Get the first book for $1.99!"
Which is my parents' bookshelf contained three different versions of the first volume of an encyclopedia set, but not the rest of the set. (I knew more about aardvarks, and less about zebras, than any 12-year old that ever lived.)

Oh, and see also, Columbia House Record for an example of a once very successful rebill program.

I had a Columbia House membership I took out about 12 years ago. I never paid it. Last month I was hit with a collections on my credit .... from guess who? A collections company trying to collect on Columbia House "debt" from 12 years ago. I contested it and had it removed but thats how you run a rebill. I wonder how many people just payed the $45 and went on with their life.

Me too. It was great sending in my order for 12 tapes under the name Engel Gooberstink and receiving them in the mail.

yeah you're right it was 12 tapes. when i got older, i use to wonder if the artists ever got their proper due. i hear these tapes are considered promotional or something like that.

12 tapes for a fucking penny
