I've clearly over estimated the American public and I wasn't even thinking highly of them to begin with.

Each 24h cable news network is running the funeral right now...

pff. Fox ran 24 hour coverage of Anna Nicole for months and she didn't even really do anything. Hearing this doesn't surprise me at all. Celebrity death = corporate media gold. She'll sell more records off of her coverage today than she sold in the last 15 years.

Actually, she'll be making Dolly some more money...

TODAY Entertainment - Whitney Houston's death means millions for Dolly Parton

From what I read she died relatively broke.

Speaking ill of the dead? Wow...

Yep. Big money in celebrity deaths.

Sony Apologizes for Whitney Houston Price Hike in U.K. | Music News | Rolling Stone

'Whitney Houston product was mistakenly mispriced on the U.K. iTunes store on Sunday," said a statement issued by Sony.

"mistakenly priced." uh-huh. Funny how the "mistake" jacked prices up rather than down. lol

lol- they are shameless. I'm all for making money and such, but these guys are vultures pick the meat off of a corpse.

It's their disingenuity that gets me. Frankly, I would respect Sony more if they had been upfront and said, "C'MON! She's gone. Dead. What? Andy Warhol dies, and everyone banks... Michael Jackson croaks, and everybody makes money... Whitney dies, and suddenly we're all family? We gotta pass the urn, and take a collection? Are you kiddin' me?!"

Instead, we get, "oops. Technical error." pfft.

First thing that popped in my head:
