i remember it was in his sig.. it was like fucking insane looking LP's. in his portfolio he had shit for stock robots and all kinds of things.

in his copy he was basically like 'fuck yeah these are expensive, but you get waht you pay for'

Think this might have been my Brand Choppers site but it's no longer active/taking orders...

On a lighter note - here's a MAD old flash portfolio I found from back in 2003 - still hot: NC Media webdesign web design graphic design cd rom flash multimedia programming print printing toronto

There's a few great designers in this forum, i'd trust them with my shit, but I personally won't be doing b2b one on one servicing ever again.

Best of luck and thanks for the mention.

damn, thats a bummer. that was deifnitely what i was referring to.

What happened with that, was it just too much grinding?

Cheers,

Actually we only did but a few orders with it. I thought about acquiring the greatest talent beside me and pumping top level projects out again but... My biz and talents suit me best doing my own offers/landers/flips et al so now it's just used to present to partners. I just make way more and leverage my time much better internally + looking after boat loads of aff's it just doesn't make sense to produce for others anymore on piece work no matter how much I price it at.

I do take on partnerships and 50/50's with the right fit project where we simply combine resources and share the rewards however a good fit is rare and I have xx launches lined up plus moving to DomRep soon so right now I'm simply coasting and checking off site after site before I jet.

^ LPdesigner is good imo, and I would check a guru/elance etc. for top shelf expensive guys, and would encourage you to stick to only the top shelf guys if you're doing anything as a vendor or starting a new brand.

This.

No one in the industry uses the actual LP's they sell. Look at Justin Dupre. The LP's he uses versus the LP's he sells is like the difference between a bicycle and a Ford. I can't name a single person who actually uses the LP's they sell on their own campaigns. It just doesn't make sense -- why make perfect 12% conversion LP's that will earn some forum guy over $1k a day, while he's paying you $50-70 one-off ? All good LP designers I know sooner or later realize this, and quit being LP designers ^^ [or go the Justin Dupre route...]

Lots of people would be willing to lay down 50-70-100 for serious LP's. Problem is... they bring in 10x more $ if used by the designer himself...

Yep, pretty much covered it - however I started to charge min 5K, then min 10K, was silly that no matter what my filter was they kept trying to come. I set these prices to literally scare them away or make it really worth it for me - still wasn't. (this was before brand choppers just at ncmedia.ca - the pricing on the choppers site was a fielder and it was stupid re the RFQ's I got so I just said fuck it).

Another reason I will never go back to servicing - your time = swallowed if you want to overdeliver and please your clients (who admittingly tend to be obnoxious if they are anywhere near what a real marketer is/does, and rightfully so - they want the best and with unlimited revisions...). Even then, get yourself 10 clients a year that pay 10K - 20K, tell me how fast you go gray - did it for many years (some bombed) before doing my own shit, and BC was a weak attempt for me to test the waters again - meh. Thought about just managing the talent too, meh... I'm a control freak I'd probably lose it/never be happy with the work or the clients... was enough to re-solidify my decision to stop designing forever on those terms.

Doing an LP for $xx or $xxx on that level above? - luda imo - if you can find them hold onto them and keep them in a gold cage.

In before:

"I work India and have great offers of landing page for your consumption at very low price"

Actually LOL'd thx.

+1 awesomeness

*Very nice, should def be charging more and or you guys should nut-hug/retain him before he turns into me/gone.

I'm going to help some of you fellow designers. I really did take on a 'pay top dollar or beat it' attitude, if you're confident in your work don't be shy to be stern on your actual custom work - LP packages/high volume low ticket products aside.

*Also if you're great at creating these landers, why on earth aren't you being your own client, monetizing on whatever, creating offers, getting lists together, targeting them, yada yada.. I think designers/producers (good ones) are an absolute dangerous breed if they have good left/right brain balance and can grasp IM/technical aspects as strong as they have creative aspects.

A few of the right moves and you'll never have to service a client again - trust me you'd love it! Then again, chasing invoices, getting clients dogs opinions on revisions, never actually 'ending' projects, and being treated like a media whore might just be your cup of tea if you can figure out the right eco-system and balance to be successful without a heavy grind year to year...

I know TLDR but that's just my style, I like detail.

you sound so much like me its disgusting. I totally feel you on that NC.. im a perfectionist and even with the projects I have going now i go insane trying to perfect them, let alone shit that just NEVER ENDS.
