Any of you gay webmasters using Safari? It's 10x better on a Mac, so I might switch from FF to Safari, just wondering if anyone else has switched. Only problem I see is fewer extensions/add-ons.

Have you tried chrome on a mac?

I just dropped Safari for Chromium.

Safari had two flaws: too many tabs, and it would automatically refresh all of them at times, losing blog posts and crap you are working on, etc. 2nd was, checking out through Paypal didn't work about 15% of the time.

EDIT: on a Mac.

I use it exclusively. Firefox fucking BLOWS on my Mac. It takes 20 seconds to startup and hangs up the whole computer while it does its thing. I cringe every time I open Firefox because I know that they'll ask me to upgrade and all my extensions will break for awhile.

The only good part of Firefox is Firebug. And even then, I have Firebug lite on Safari which works just fine.

Sounds like you aren't using an SSD?

nope. I'm not sure if I fucked something up in Firefox when I did a bunch of about:config changes. Firefox used to be good, but it started sucking when they went from version 6 to 16 in like 6 months.

This!
I went to chrome for the same reason.... firefox 3 was good then all of a sudden i was like version 10 and Now it just blows so i went with chrome on all fronts.

i am using both Safari and Chrome on my mac. The only thing missing on Chrome (mac version), it's the lack of support for the magic mouse.

I love that i can zoom in with just with a double tap on Safari, but i can't do the same on Google Chrome.

However....i am only using Chrome on iPad :)....it's much better than Safari

I use chrome on both of my macs as my primary browsers. When I'm doing front end dev work, the way that Safari caches shit is absolutely infuriating. Chrome has a nice mix of performance, good plugins, and a really good set of development tools

I use Chrome and just started using Chrome for iOS. The main advantage is that it remembers all your passwords and bookmarks and ports them for you. Not sure about Safari though, I tried it for a day or 2 and thought it was kind of slow. FF definitely blows on Mac.

I mainly use Safari. I wouldn't say I love it, but it's my choice of browser. I use FF, Camino and Opera periodically as well. I think Opera's the best, but it doesn't support 1password, so it's about as much use as tits on a pig.

1Password is my lifeline. I don't think I would internet without it.

Do you not use command+<num> to switch tabs? If not, what the fuck is wrong with you and how do you switch tabs? This is the sole reason I won't use Safari for more than 5 minutes at a time. Opera does the same thing, I don't know if you can change this functionality. Don't use Opera, it's gay.

Also, as far as I know Firefox is the only browser that will tunnel DNS lookup requests over a proxy as well as HTTP traffic (though you have to configure network.proxy.socks_remote_dns from about:config). Useful if you work in an office and care about what your network traffic looks like.

Same. I couldn't live without Roboform when I used 'dows, and I can't live without 1password now.

When I first moved, it was what I missed most. But, like it seems is the case with all Mac Apps, you try to find a replacement and discover the new Mac App is better. :)
