Why do CPA lead offers suck for me?

I have a site which gets 10,000 visits a day and I have CPA leads on it. Fill in zip, get ipod/giftcard/etc and my conversion rate just sucks. Some days I'm only to make a few dollars but usually I make nothing. My adsense, popunder and banner ads seem to pay much better but there seems to be a lot of discussion about CPA so why the poor performance?

Is there something I'm missing?

you need to target traffic and market it to the end-user.

What kind of traffic do you have? Are your zips targeted to your audience?

What ads come up for google on adsense?

Once you figure that out, go out and find an offer that is what others are advertising on your site. and cut google out.

It is a Myspace site. People click the links to the landing pages but fail to fill out the zip/email submit. I will often get 10-30 clicks on an offer and no conversions :(. That is what is annoying. Why click if you aren't gonna finnish the offer? The adsesne ads are very targeted and I' not going to remove them.

Your traffic is generic and really doesnt have a TON of value... have you tried promoting myspace related leads like webfetti?

Maybe that's your problem. Copeac is great, but there are plenty of other offers available on other networks that may be better suited for a myspace site.

Here is the main problem. People DO click the links. But they DONT fill out the offer. I attribute it to the adverrtisers intentionally creating non converting landing pages. Trying to stiff affiliates. If they wern't interested they wouldn't click the links to begin with.

For some offers I have 120 clicks and 3 conversions. My epc is horrible 3 cents.

others have 30 clicks and no conversions.

Totals for report 6 649 9 0 0 $0.00 $12.70
only 9 conversions for 650 clicks fucking LAME

If the landing page doesn't convert, the advertiser doesn't get any value :)

Try out different offers. In general, myspace related traffic is pure shit. You are going to have a tough time monetizing this traffic with affiliate offers. Not saying it can't or hasn't been done.

He didn't say to remove them. He said you should see the type of ads being served by Adsense and find a similar CPA offer to promote.

Your thought that the affiliate networks are trying to stiff you by creating non-converting landing pages is ridiculous.

You aren't even reading what people are saying here, and you obviously aren't able to figure out what kind of traffic you are getting or how to capitalize on it.

Your site is getting a good amount of traffic, perhaps you should consider selling it and doing something easier.

If you are using simple email and zip submit banners, then your conversions with your type of traffic aren't going to be very high.

People see these offers almost every day, especially people on MySpace.

Even some of the nitwits on MySpace know there is no way they are going to get a "free ipod" or "gift card" just for handing over their email address. they've seen these types of offers spammed all over Myspace and many people are "immune" to them no matter what you do.

Listen to what these other guys have said, search for some other offers out there that are more targetted to your traffic.

You can join more than one affiliate network. Join a few others and see what they have to offer.

Check out what your competitors are promoting on their site, do some digging and see what network they are getting their offers from - if they have targetted offers that is. If they don't they are probably seeing conversions like yours, so too bad for them.

CPA offers can make you money, but they definitely aren't a "magic bullet" (not the blender, which is excellent BTW!). You aren't just going to post a bunch of simple email and zip submits and see cash rolling in the next day.

It's a good sign you are seeing lots of clicks on your offers because that means it isn't because they aren't being noticed.

The low convo's are because someone clicks on the link/banner and says to themself, "I've seen this before, no thanks!".

Work on finding some more targetted offers that will make your visitors say "Hey what's this?" or "This looks cool" (okay lame examples, but you know what I mean).

If you do that, you should see better convo numbers. If not, then, well.....kill yourself.

My competitors are using adsense, banners,

I tried valueclick but can't get in after applying many times. They simply dont want myspace sites it seems.

However I just signed up for casale ads. Hopefully I'll get in. :)

I have paypopup (very nice payout) and auction ads (crappy..epc averages out to be a penny)

I've also sold textlinks on forums which has been pretty easy way to make money

Also I put some adengaged text link on my site. We'll see how those go. If they don't work i'll pull them off quickly.

As for the CPA ads I'm just gonna pull them off. If it isn't working it isn't working. No use just cluttering my site with more links. I tried finding stuff directly related to myspace but coudn't.

CPA offers seem to work for sites that have lots of targeted traffic. If you can use Ub3r BH skills to rank top ten in google for "crest white strips" you can easily make lots of money with the white strips CPA offer for example.

With your typical affiliate offer, on a content site (that means any site where the traffic is not driven specifically for the offer) you should be achieving under a 10 cent CPM for affiliate offers. That means 10,000 visitors = $2-$3 depending on pageviews per visitor. It sounds to me like you are doing about right.

On the other hand, if the traffic is highly targeted/funneled CPMs for affiliate offers can exceed $1000 per thousand pageviews.
