Hi everyone my name is Alfred. I first want to say thanks for having here. Theres allot of energy in here and im very glad to be apart of that. I just wanted to know why you feel allot of people dont make it in affiliate marketing. My suggestions are as follows, what are your?

1. People give their money to scammers who then give them useless information in return.

Many scammers, after they've taken your money, will offer a cheap e-book to download. Sometimes this is stolen from another site, but more often it's something they've written in twenty minutes when they remembered that they needed to offer people something. That means it will be filled with useless information that the scammer probably knows nothing about – and if you try to follow it, you might soon conclude that affiliate marketing is impossible and you were a fool for even trying.

2. They don't have enough patience.

It takes time for the money to start coming in. You need to build up a steady stream of traffic and a mailing list before you can think about earning serious cash. When they only earn a few dollars a day, or fail to receive the thousands they were expecting, many people get disillusioned and decide that they're better off with the day job.

3. They don't follow the instructions properly.

I know. Why would you spend your money on an affiliate marketing course only to ignore what it says? But people do. They think they know better than the pros who have been doing this for years. And they usually end up making a mess of it, losing money on unprofitable advertising techniques that don't work. But, of course, they don't blame themselves and go back to try to work out where they went wrong. They blame the course they bought, and decide it must have been sold by a scammer – a scammer, like everyone else who claims they make a living affiliate marketing!

4. They think they're not clever or skilled enough.

Normally, they're wrong. Affiliate marketing really is very simple. You need intelligence and initiative to become one of the top affiliates, yes – but if you just want to earn some extra money, all you need to do is follow instructions. Buy an affiliate marketing course and do what it says. Too many people sit there and think ‘I can't'.

5. They decide it's too much work.

They get taken in by the promises that they can make money going to the cinema, watching TV, washing their hair. In truth, there's a bit of work to do before you get to that stage – like setting up a website and promoting it, for starters! As soon as they realise that it's not going to be as easy as they thought, they give up. The truth is, there's no such thing as money you don't have to work for (lottery winners excluded!).

Did you notice anything these five reasons have in common?

All of them involve people giving up.

Whatever the reason, if you give up, you're not going to become a successful affiliate marketer. Fact is, nothing worth having is easy. Being an affiliate marketer is worth it – not just the money, but the excitement of seeing your list grow and traffic rise. And it's not easy. Most affiliate marketers had to work hard and experienced plenty of failure along the way. You've got to be ready for that as well.

Most wannabe affiliate marketers fail because most affiliate marketers give up. You make sure you're not one of them.

I think you covered just about everything! But most of us get taken in by the promise of instant wealth! Become a millionaire overnight. Make $5000 by tomorrow etc. etc. I was "lured" into parting with a lot of money by some of these con-men until I wised up and realised that making a living on the internet was hard work. So what you are saying just about hits the nail right on the head.

I have tried to help some friends because they are attracted to the idea of making some money from home. It is usually a frustrating experience for both of us. They just really don't want to learn the basic, and expect to put up a web page and have people visit it.

I think it is patience and maybe just aptitude for this sort of work that nails most people. Hey, we don't want everybody to do it!

Tsk Tsk... You guys didn't bother to read the rules before posting did ya?

Ban!!!
Since you can't be bothered to read our rules, I'll just let you know that this is the last place you want to be promoting that crap in your signature.

I'd say one of the biggest mistakes newbies make is buying/selling $7 reports.

Most people fail because they just try. There is no try. You either do or do not. Failure is just a stumbling block to success. It takes x amount of failures to become a success. People who have never failed and succeeded should never ever write an article or post on failure/success.

My guess is your the typical failure trying to be successful selling fluff. Psshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.................Banation Ville You Go

6) Most people give up if their name is alfred. BUAHAHAHAHA i kidd... i kid

His post wasn't bad. I tried to warn him. Here's the PM I sent, and his reply.

Well, I misunderstood because On Demand Profits is a report to teach a very simple method to make money on the internet. I bought it with resell rights and joined Wickedfire through a link in the report. Can you tell me why I should be banned?

Affiliates fail because they spend all their time on forums like this and syndk8 reading up and asking questions and asking questions on IM and reading blogs without actually *doing* stuff. The people making the most bank don't have time for forums. I spend too much arsing round myself, need to do something productive...

I would never want to be accused of kissing your blasted ass, but you are correct. I have 30 domains - most grabbed at 2am when I had the "next big idea!" 3 of them make money. I have a 90% failure rate, and yet I make a living from my big three. A little succcess gets replicated. If I worked smarter, or had help, maybe I could improve my rate...or just run through those 9 failures faster. I am working on that.

By the way, I looked at your blog, and I think you and I are on the same page abut many thngs. Now, if you could just curb your profanty a little, it wouldn't pain me to admit it. :anon.sml:

There are two reasons why people fail, in my opinion:

1. They don't work at all or not hard enough
2. They don't learn from failure and keep trying things that don't work because they can't admit they are wrong.

Lazyness and a big ego are the most deadly mixture.

Another reason why some people fail is because if their earnings don't come they suddenly decide that the affiliate program they are promoting is a scam and then move onto the next program when in fact it could be that you have not sent your W-8 or W-9 form as of yet or they need further information from you.

I think that people fail in business in general for not responding to changes in the marketplace with new ways of doing business, because it's not the strongest that survive but the most adaptable. You have to keep reading the news, this forum and listening to others to understand what has changed, what is no longer profitable, and where to follow the money.

So if you're successful, you may not be successful next year. Keep your eyes and mind open, adapt and follow the money.
