I setup an acai blog. It's similar to the ____sweightloss.com sites, but I didn't copy any images/links and the the site has a lot of pages and unique content, so quality score isn't a problem.
I created a new adwords campaign and 10 adgroups with about 6-12 ads in each group. Each group has anywhere between 40-200 keywords and phrases (including misspellings etc). I set the max CPC to 0.20c at first, and my max daily budget to $20. Campaign is search only (no content network, no search partners).
Started campaign, and 12 hours later: 2 clicks, 206 impressions. hmm.. my quality score on each keyword is at least 6/10, some are 7-8/10. A lot of my keywords do get a high search volume per month, but my bids are pretty low.
I increased bids to around 35c a click, increased daily budget to $35, and increased some of my adgroups to 45-50c a click (the ones targeting specific purchase/buy phrases). Things began speeding up, but are still slow.
Is it just this niche? It's so popular that my bids are insignificant?
I have thousands to spend, I'm not being cheap, but from what I've read, people start out bidding as low as I did.
My plan initially was to gather 50-100 clicks, pause the campaign and go through the reports extensively and optimize my keywords, etc. So far I have around 11 clicks and its been more than 24 hours. My CTR is around 50-60% so my main concern right now is getting more exposure/clicks, not split testing the actualy pages and offers.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
