I can't figure it out - my domain is over a month old, ive submitted my XML site map to google via webmaster tools yet only 8 of my pages are being indexed.

Any help? I'm worried my site architecture might be causing this.

Will PM website to anyone interested

May i know how long does it take for a site to be indexed? Since a week agi , I have added a sitemap and content as well as submitted them to major blog directories and my site is not indexed by google.

Well your site is indexed if you say 8 page of it are indexed. How many pages does your site have? Do the non-indexed pages have any common traits? I was having trouble getting my category pages indexed until I figured out I had a setting somewhere that was making them "noindex".

I have my first seo site up and running and it's showing no rank at all when I check prchecker.info

Any tips on what may be happening? It should rank as something right? It's been 4 days.

I was going to get really angry with a nasty response, but I noticed I was in the newbie section... I'll bit.

1) Content - maybe there is not enough content (words) on the pages you are looking to get index. Post-Pengiun, pages need to be 800 to 1500 words. The days of 300 words are over (from my research).

2) Links - Maybe you don't have any inbound links from external pages/sites going to your pages. Submitting a sitemap to google is not going to get all of your pages 100% indexed. You have to have links going to those pages. It's like going to the DMV and stating, "hey I need a drivers license" ... "Well you've come to the right place... but did you fill out the paper work? Did you make an appointment? Did you take the course? Did you pass the course? Do you know how to do internet marketing or the SEOzzz?"

3) Is your site indexable? I mean, how do you "know" that your site is search engine friendly? What indicators are you using?

Also, why are you concerned about getting indexed in the search engines? If it's for traffic, you have a long ways to go, you have to build backlinks, add fresh content, and do a shit load of other stuff. Cause the next question I assume you will have is how do you rank for keywords, and that's where the phase of your journey begins.

Good luck bros!

Thanks for the advice.
For content does spinned articles work? For example spinning an article with spinnerchief to 40% or more?
So after the google penguin update, those case studies that show they get indexed within the same day after posting 2x 500 word articles aren't valid anymore?

Thanks

Thanks for the help. I have 2 writers adding content, but I don't have any inbound links yet. With the new google updates, is it wise to buy backlinks or better to do it manually? Any recommendations on providers?

You're site's over a month old, I don't think you want to taint it with spun content. It's better to get unique content written, if you really care about your site. I use Textbroker.com. I usually set my content at $0.016 per word 3 star rating. The double benefit trick I use is I order content between 800 to 1200 words. Only people that love writing would even attempt to take that task, so I get 4 and 5 star articles for 3 star pricing. I don't go to 2 stars, since it's a read and disapprove and resubmit that crap. The grammar is bad, and it's just people that don't know English trying to make money. Textbroker is the way to go, it's cheap enough for anyone. If you order content below 600 words, you can get a wise variety, but only top producers seem to want to attempt to write above 800 words. Just my take.

In terms of the case studies, I don't recall exactly which one you are referring to, but your site is one month old, and if you don't know more than the basics of ranking or SEO, you can't take what they do and attempt their feats, since you might miss basic steps that they didn't spell out exactly in the case study, like hiding your footprints, or making sure you're not on a shared IP and in a bad IP neighborhood.

The stuff I do is not for the faint of hearts. I get really sick rankings, but I take really sick risks. PM if you are interested. I've got a site ranking right there with Bank of America and Wells Fargo, but I am taking the risk of losing it all tomorrow if things go south.

I have noticed my sites taking a while as well to get indexed. Only like 2 pages have been indexed over the last week.

I haven't done much link building to it though which "may" be the case....

well see.

Thanks. I have to wait to pm a bit longer but will consider it if things don't pick up. Today the site is being ranked and traffic started coming in. Where from, I have no clue because I can't find the damn thing in google but it's a start.

Your reply to OP was helpful as well.

Thank you everyone for your input and knowledge

but being a true noob 21 of my 24 pages have been indexed now.

thanks again

edit: Probably should've mentioned this before but I was worried my site architecture may have caused the problem with indexing - a lot of my root menu items have a block code that makes it unclickable and I was worried this might prevent googel crawling. However there is strong linking between pages.
