I live in Atlanta and the sports scene sucks right now.

Falcons 1-5
Braves no playoffs
Thrashers 0 for season
Georgia Tech sucks
Georgia basically out of the SEC race

But hey we always have the Hawks:repuke:

And we just got a WNBA teams, chicks with dicks.

This shit blows

The hawks aren't going to win more than 30 this year

New York is not better anyway..

I'm in the middle of a "prolonged" move to Atlanta (meaning that the GF is spending most of her time there now while I stay here in Charleston for a few more months). Anyway, other than the fact that the Falcs suck and Georgia Tech is playing like...well, Georgia Tech, Atlanta is still a great place to live if you like football.

The SEC Championship Game is played in the Ga. Dome - 'nuff said.
The Falcs do host some good teams and will bounce back.
Ga. Tech will always struggle, but it's still fun to watch football.
UGA/University of South Carolina in Athens = an unforgettable time.

Plus, Atlanta is literally in the middle of the SEC schools. Meaning that if you want to watch a college game from the best conference in college football it's at most a couple of hours drive away.

Dude, Atlanta = Football.

Nothing like a road trip to go catch a SEC game like geekcognito said. Atlanta sports teams may suck, but it is a great city that is growing rapidly.

There are only 2 SEC schools less than 2 hours from ATL, but okay

But yes...Atlanta is the hub of the SEC, and that means the hub of DAMN GOOD COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

That said, UGA is 20th in the nation right now...Considering the strength of the SEC this year, that's nothing to be disappointed about

Nope not complaining about were I live I love Atlanta and college football but it would be nice if some of the teams were having good seasons it is a different atmosphere around here when teams are playing good.

SEC is hard as balls this year I did not really expect and SEC championship this year Georgia.

Haha. Ok, then maybe I should have said a "few"

But seriously, Columbia is 3.5 hrs away, Knoxville isn't a hell of a lot farther, and then there's Baton Rouge, Gainesville, etc all within an easy day's travel. Plus, if you don't feel like driving flying out of Atlanta is usually cheap because it's a huge hub.

(I have to keep talking myself into loving Atlanta because it's the gf's - not mine - idea to move there. I just grudgingly agreed.)

You don't want to be a sports fan in Buffalo - stop bitching.

I'd rather have nothing to hope for, than to be let down more times than I can count.

So you're referring to one team, the Bills?

I think the point here is that there are a lot of sports teams in Atlanta, and all of them are underperforming...Personally, I'd say maybe with the exception of the Braves (afterall, they did finish above 500) and UGA...although UGA isn't exactly an "Atlanta" team.

Buffalo the NCAA football team has never been good...So you can't be upset when they don't execute :p

Go All Atlanta Teams!!!!!

Sorry I have to support my home teams no matter what there record. I have lived here all my 28 years of life and have love every bit of it. Now do remember GA does have a few other college teams as well to watch. Georgia of course (But I don't) and Georgia Southern University (GO GSU!!!!!) Anyone want to guess the college I went to... :evil_laughter:

We are in the process of getting a new head coach for the Thrashers. I have mixed fealing about this move. On oneside we needed to shake things up and they did. But on the other should we have gone a few more games to see if the team could come together and overcome this....

Hmmm.. but I will still support the ATL Teams.

I went to GSU as well! Things have been downhill since the departure of Paul Johnson to Navy. But how about that win against App State. Remember when I-A schools were scared to play us because they were afraid of the whipass they might get like App State did Michigan. And for those who don't know who Adrian Peterson is...

YouTube - Adrian Peterson "The Run"

The Run... I remember that game and I remember taking the goal post down... That run was featured on Sports Center. GO AP!!!

Yea the football program was never the same after Paul left. But it was the best 4 years of my life I can tell you that.. :D:bowdown:

Graduating from Ga Tech this semester. This is my last chance for the school beat UGA. Fucking Reggie Ball last year ruined our best chances....
