A fascinating video if you like the law:

[ame="http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4097602514885833865"]"Don't Talk to the Police" by Professor James Duane[/ame]

I think he is talking about this talk:

I watched this years ago it is really good.

Can't be a 'how to talk to police' thread without this:

does anyone else have an uncontrollable urge to yell "fuck the police" every single time you see a cop car? its become a force of habit for me

No, you clearly have anger issues -- Work with the police, get to know them, then when some shit comes up they got your back.

ya no. that's the dumbest shit ever. Any cop who is cool will give the exact same advice that lawyer just gave in the video.

Cool video but the advice given here is utter bull-shit. If anyone cares to elaborate I will, but don't waste your time. The real world doesn't work with lawyer technicalities.

LOL my mom actually emailed me a link to this the other day because she knows I've had some close encounters with cops and their k9s in the past. Knowing my rights, having a little common sense, and keeping it cool during nerve-racking perimeter searches has saved me every time.

I'm not gonna talk about who I know and whatever else, I can tell you that this info is fucking spot on. You have the right to keep your mouth shut, and you should always keep it shut until you've spoken to a lawyer.
