Nokia was already in the dumps when Microsoft came around in 2011. They bet on black when the smartphone market was red. Elop will be much better for MSFT than Ballmer has been of late and Nokia dumping their handset division was necessary to keep the company afloat. Now NOK can focus on their profitable divisions and MSFT has direct control over handset manufacturing at a time when touch interface and inter-device connectivity is paramount. It's a win for both companies.

NOK is going to explode today, not only because of this news, but because of the impending short-squeeze --

Short Percent of Float
5.73 %
Short Interest (Aggregate Total)
212,588,900
Days To Cover (Short Interest Ratio)
14.4

Will probably see over $6 at some point today.

We'll also probably see some good buying opportunities in MSFT this week. Don't be afraid of all the change at MSFT, it's good change.

Windows Phone 8 is a great phone OS, I switched from Android last December.

Nokia's HERE apps are good too. HERE Drive is a nice free GPS Navigation app that doesn't require a constant data connection like Google Maps/Navigation.
