Has the first real evidence of time travelling been found? A video on YouTube seems to think so.

On the DVD extras for Charlie Chaplin's 'The Circus', a woman is spotted in the background at the movie's premiere in 1928 and appears to be talking on a mobile phone.

Stunned by what he saw, Irish filmmaker George Clarke consulted experts on his find, and has since posted it on YouTube. He claims that the video has not been tampered with in any way.

The footage does seem to show a lady nattering on a mobile phone, but if you thought your phone reception was bad at normal times, we hate to think what it would have been like in the ‘20s.

Cynics have scoffed at the footage, asking, if you were a time traveller, would you openly show off the amazing gadget? Others have asked why you would go to a Chaplin premiere if you could go back to any point in time?

Clarke replied, "Who says the person in question went back to see the Chaplin premiere? How about, the person went back to an earlier period and got stuck there or was in town doing something else and just happened to stroll on by."

Have a look and see for yourselves.

There were no cell towers at the time, so it couldn't have been a phone, unless they somehow managed to cross the time gap and speak across it.

Now, it could have been a time traveler talking on a radio with another time traveler, coordinating something. But then again, it could have been someone talking on a radio with the movie producers - but I don't think they had radios back then small enough to fit in her hand like that.

It's going to take much more for me to consider that this video is somehow 'proof' of a time travel. However, the proper technological exploitation of quantum physics would result in not needing a cell phone tower. 'Spooky action at a distance' like Einstein said.

(I stole this from a different forum, so the "I" is the poster not me)

It turns out that the lady was using a 1920's hearing aid. Siemens made a brilliant little device that could be concealed in a ladies purse. Amazing tech for it's time:

ADDITIONAL RESEARCH:

I started doing some more research about Chaplin's "The Circus". It took in $3.8 million dollars!!! That’s a lot of cash-o-la back in 1928. As well, he was going through tumultuous times: a studio fire while filming, his mother passing away, going through a bitter divorce and rumor has it, a serious drug habit which left him with broke. The IRS started hunting him down for money owing in back taxes.

Enter Nikola Tesla, a huge Chaplin fan. He provides Chaplin with some names of people who are filthy rich that are willing to invest in his film. In exchange he promises Tesla to be forever enshrined on the silver screen in one of his films. One theory has it that is actually him who is the mystery woman in “The Circus”. Here's where it get's creepy, Tesla would have been 60 at the time of the filming, exactly the age where he started to go a bit loopy and experiments with time travel. Coincidence? I sure hope so...

this is more general/special relativity than quantum

You're probably right since you have the physics education and I'm the laymen, but can you elaborate?

I'm referring to quantum entanglement btw, so I'd like to understand your point of view of how it's not relating to quantum physics. Trust me I'm genuinely curious and love being wrong. (while learning something new)

No, but this is a good example of people imposing their own paradigms on other realities.

She is holding something but you cannot tell what it is. For all we know she fell down and she is holding her face while muttering to herself.

umm I have yet to see anyone make this argument so I will. If in the future we are able to create a time machine why would we not be able to create a cell phone that you didn't have to hold in your hand? I mean she doesn't even have bluetooth!

Unless of course the time machine comes before the hands free phone!!! *dun* *dun* *duuuuunnnnn*

Why was someone watching the extras on this old ass film? Why are there extras .. and why is it on DVD?
