Wordpress Author Thumbnails and profile

I'like to display an author box at the bottom of every post on a wordpress blog

very similar to this: High Culture on a Low Budget: Budapest’s State Opera House

at the bottom of the post you can see an avatar and a short profile of the author

is there a plugin that can do this with no effort or I need to use tags and do my own thing?

I thought a plugin did exactly this, but I'm not seeing it anywhere. This comes close. (okay not really)

You could try this plugin and insert your gravatar. To achieve the desired result.
