If this works the way you describe... It'd be awesome. But why don't I see an auto push message when visiting your site.

Anyways... if you want a review, I'll install this on one of my WP sites and write a detailed review.

Push messaging... it seems like what SMS was years ago (an open field to play in)

You have to push the subscript button on the page, it wont come up automatically.

For the demo on the site, it can take up to 60 seconds for Google to register the subscription depending on your geographical location.

After 60 seconds click the send message button and it will work.

This isn't a problem for the plugin, only for the demo, since it's attempting to send messages to you before Google has registered the subscription.

This looks fucking epic, any reviews guys?

Does it weigh anyones website down?

This could replace my live chat...

Does ad blocker cause any issues?

Does it weigh anyones website down?

I assume this was a question for the reviewers, but I'll explain the technology in the mean time, while they are testing the plugin.

How it works is when you want to message your users, you send Google one message for every 1000 users.

Google will then send that message to each of those 1000 people for you.

So if you had 10,000 users the plugin would send 10 messages, which would take less than a second, and Google would send the full 10,000.

This could replace my live chat...

Unfortunatly the messages are only one way, there is no way for the user to responsed to the message besides clicking and being taken to a page.

The way I envision this being used is to announce a now product launch or to direct users to a new blog post on a website.

Users can be directed to any website, it's not just limited to your own.

You could also send them to Facebook pages, Twitter post, etc.

My examples are rather simple and I can guarantee people will come up with more elaborate ways to make money using this plugin.

Does ad blocker cause any issues?

Because the messages are in the browser but outside of a webpage there is no way for adblockers to stop the message, since adblockers only have access to the content of a webpage and not the actual browser itself.

Looks really good. Can you adjust the message box size? Also, can you add an animation to it? Like very simple gif?

At this point in time, you can only change the Image, Title, Body Text and URL of the message.

With every update to Chrome, Google expands the features of the messages so this might be a possibility in the future.

A gif will be shown, but they wont animate. Again this might be possible in the future, but since this technology is only 2 months old and is on the cutting edge, at this time you can only display non-animated images.

I should also mention that while Google does send the messages for you, they don't actually know what the message says or what the image being shown is.

All of that information is handled by the plugin.

So you could have a message pop up like the one below and it would be perfectly fine.

Really interesting, quick question - do users have to actually click anything on the website, before they become eligible to receive message? I assume every visitor must click "subscribe" alike button right?

I am semi interested in this but getting someone to push a subscribe button is going to be tricky.

Is there a way around that?

I was trying to find an example of sending messages to see if this can be exploited without user intervention but don't seem to find anything.

Do you have sample code for subscribing / sending messages?

I just want to know if I could create a hidden div or js to click the subscribe for the end user without them even knowing.

Please advise.

Yes, a user has to subscribe/optin to the receive the messages.

The way I look at it, is take what works with getting subscriptions to email lists and apply it push messages.

Offering incentives or warming the user up by asking them if they want to receive updates before they are shown the subscription dialog, will greatly increase subscriptions.

There are two major benefits messaging have over email subscriptions.

First, the subscription process for messages takes less than a second for users and they can subscribe from the page their currently viewing. Unlike email subscription where the user have to load their email, then wait to receive the email, then click the link, etc.

With messaging they are asked to subscribe, they click a button and they are finished!

And the second benefit, this one being a major benefit in my opinion, you're not at the mercy of mailers like awebber/malchimp or spam filters.

You have 100% control over delivery and content.

There is no way to force a user to optin, since the optin process happens outside of a webpage.

The optin request appears as a dialog near the address bar of the browser;
