Hey guys,

I recently added pagination to my wordpress website homepage in order to reduce my bounce rate and improve average time spent on website. Does anyone know what SEO implications this might have? and how to fix it?

I want google to read the 3 split pages as 1, however currently its taking it as hxxp://mysite.com/page/1 etc. How do I make it such that when I search in google for content that is on my second page but google shows hxxp://mysite.com rather than http://mysite.com/page/2

I have tried searching in google but had no luck with finding something on this for wordpress. Any idea?

Sorry but your post doesn't make a lot of sense.

Did you paginate a static homepage?

If your goal is to reduce your bounce rate, pagination could help but you can do many other things like doing a better job of interlinking your content.

I want google to read the 3 split pages as 1

You can't.

You also DON'T want google to display pagination pages in SERPS. You want Google to display individual pages or individual blog entries but pagination pages are always changing and should be NOINDEX.

I think this might end up being a mind = blown post, but I think he's asking how to change which page is displayed in Google for a specific keyword.

The answer is you can't change which page ranks for a specific keyword - Google is going to pick your most relevant page and display that. Try editing the onsite for the page you want to rank to make it more relevant than what's being shown now.

Disallow pages 2 and 3, and just allow page 1 so it always starts on 1...? internal link to 2 from 1, and to 3 from 2
