You probably read a lot of interesting things. Some of us would love to read them, too. The purpose of this thread is to host a collection of essays, papers, etc. that are worth reading.

When you run across something others might enjoy, post a link. Add a brief summary if you'd like. The topic is up to you. Even though I'd like to veer away from current events, and focus on longer-reaching subjects/ideas, there are no rules.

I'll start with a few:

The Road to Totalitarianism - Henry Hazlitt - Mises Daily

Summary: How states inevitably move toward more centralized power and less freedom.

The Blog : The Truth about Violence : Sam Harris

Summary: The benefits of avoiding confrontations and the repercussions of engaging in violence. (This was posted a couple months ago by DreamMachine. It is very good.)

The risks of the C.I.A.’s Predator drones : The New Yorker

Summary: How the U.S. uses its drones (often covertly) for assassinations.

Squatting to Poop - Is It Healthy? | Mark's Daily Apple

Summary: Conventional toilets cause elimination problems.

I intend to periodically post stuff in this thread. I hope you will, too. If folks I respect become irritated by the bumps, I'll let the thread die its deserved death.

With that, got anything interesting to read? :)
