[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lspiicSJuL4]YouTube - Part 2 - South Carolina's Governor's Press Confrence About His Last 8 Days Missing[/ame]

He is Cubby Culbertson, the guy that Gov Sandford pays tribute to here.
(See 2:45 and again at 6:00 and sorry it's Fox news, it was the shortest one I found on youtube :/)

I've mentioned him before. He's the one that I referred to as the only Evangelical Christian I know that actually acts like a Christian.

Mom says all the news stations are now trying to get a hold of him and Good Morning America is relentless. He only answered her call cause he knows her number. I'll be interested to see how it unfolds. I've already seen a few articles on the web about him. Cubby Culbertson, the man Mark Sanford calls a "spiritual giant." - By Meredith Simons - Slate Magazine

What is he talking about? Sorry non-us here so no clue what the point is of this vid :(

Haven't really been following it until now but apparently the Gov disappeared for a week while he was off in Argentina having an affair. Why does that get media coverage? I don't know, it's stupid. But then again this is in an EXTREMELY conservative state and this stuff is really frowned upon. He won't make reelection.

What's even funnier is Fox News says he is a Democrat when he is a republican because they know people who watch the channel hate democrats and believe whatever they see. The people laughing at the guy in the background make this a pretty large fail news conference for him.

Serves Sandford- all those hypocritical bible wavers down south get on my nerves. It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so loud about it. Of course this is close minded of me but oh well....

On a side note, I would love to visit Argentina too!

And no we don't think less of you for posting something from Fox, lol

Edit:
Ok I take back some of what I said because it sounds really harsh. It's not the hypocricy that get's on my nerves it's the sanctimony.

I mean everyone is a little hypocritical. But it's like a saying I coined a while ago....

"you are not a hypocrite unless you are hypocritical about being a hypocrite!"

In other words, it's one thing to actively discuss IDEALS that one believes in. Because like most human beings, we all fall short of our ideals...whether it's being a patient parent, a generous employer or whatever.

But it's another thing (sanctimony) when you are preaching to other people what they should be doing as if a) you are ALWAYS doing it and not falling short yourself sometimes.

I have more respect for people who just come clean with shit than anything else...

ok, existential verbosity over..... </end>

^^I think you nailed it with your second post. (btw Nothing anyone says about this guy would bother me, I really know nothing about him.) Calling someone out on hypocrisy is always a slippery slope, IMO, people are going to make bad choices it's part of being human. The problem is when they build themselves up to such high untouchable moral standards (here's the sanctimonious part) then they just have so much farther to fall.

Mark Sanford wasn't a bible-thumper at all...... in-fact he's done a lot to help moderate the evangelicals in his state.

His affair is a big-blow to those of us in the Republican party who were hoping to get a "fiscal conservative" running in the 2012 election against a republican field that looks to slant back to the damn social conservatives.

Mark Sanford has always been a guy who claimed to lead by example, so disappointing to not to see that be the case.

I hope your uncle is smart enough to keep ignoring the media. Nothing good ever comes from intense media interest.

He made the news because he went off on this little jaunt without telling anyone a credible story about where he was going. The stories about his mysterious disappearance made it sound like they were about to drag the lakes. The whole thing was given more weight considering that he, as a father of four boys, was inexplictly absent over the father's day weekend.

What a prince to skip out on your kids on fathers day to hole up with your mistress.

Where was the outrage when a Presidential candidate cheated on his dying wife?? Oh yea..he was a Democrat! Democrats are allowed to cheat on their wives.

I didn't have sexual relations with that women......................miss lewinski. fuckin hypocrites

wait what, there was plenty of outrage for John Edwards. I'm not defending the piece of shit, but there was a LOT of outrage and he dropped out of the race as a result.

Republicans really rub people the wrong way on shit like this because they claim to be the moral compass of this country.

Sanford was one of the few ACTUAL "limited government" Republicans. He wasn't perfect but he was easily the best of their potential 2012 candidates- which assured he had no shot at all, even before this scandal.

He had a pretty good response when Lindsay Graham was going around bad mouthing small government Republicans.
