Wow Optimum Online - You're gay!

So last night I lost service to WickedFire...

I couldn't access it at home or either of my 2 businesses. Neither could any friends in the area - alhough I could still access it via Verizon Wireless...

Hours of waiting/sleeping later I give in and call Optimum Online support.

After 2 techs telling me it's my fault or that WickedFire is just DOWN I finally get a level headed tech who dives deeper into the issue.

Somehow the Optimum Online DNS servers are fucking up and not resolving for WickedFire...I'm only on now becuase I changed my default DNS servers.

EVERY other website (I tried dozens) worked just fine. It appears like this MIGHT be a network wide issue. Any optimum online subscribers here actually getting through? Looks like AT&T blocked 4chan and Optimum blocked WickedFire!
 


My ISP is having a ton of DNS issues as well. It's so frustrating when I can't login to my cPanel, WHM, or DirectAdmin accounts... I have yet to call, because every now and then it will work.
 
This is a widespread issue. At first I thought I was put on that miserable users plugin, lol... but after reaching wickedfire via a proxy I switched to openDNS for now and it works fine.
 
i always just use 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 for my DNS (avoiding my own ISP's) -- some of the best DNS servs I know of, and so easy to remember when setting up static networking on new machines
