i was trying to editor the code of one the pages thru the WP theme editor.
When I saved, I got an blank page. I tried reloading that page but I got the page that you get when you enter a wrong URL on the public side.

The URL is good and it does it for any admin URL.

When I go to the root the site is still accessible and the content

Why? What can I do?

Thanks
HH

Hmm... when the blank page arrived. I thought i had no permission to write so I put the w-admin folder to 777.

Then I reverse it to 755 and now it works again. Weird. That still doesn't solve why i was not able to save a manual code change.

Any ideas?

Thanks
HH

I copy the code from Wordpress editor into Notepad ++ and do the editing there since you can set the language to PHP and actually read the code. I then ctrl a the wordpress admin code and replace it with what I was doing in notepad ++.

I usually use firebug to play with what I want to change and then edit a copy of the template files in notepad++ before uploading. If I need to make more changes, I already have the up to date copy on my computer (and a backup if I mess up)
