A few months ago, Dan Grossman came out with WPReviewSite which he launched and I reviewed on WickedFire. It was a bit unpolished and although I really wanted to give it a whirl, I played wait and see.

In a new thread, BB_Wolfe flipped out basically saying Dan Grossman was a douchebag and he would release a better "review site" plugin within a couple months.

Here we are 5 months later and I'm looking for a "review site" type plugin. Dan's product seems to have gained popularity and although BB_Wolfe's plugin is nowhere to be found (at least by me), I don't doubt it kicks ass if it exists.

That being said, to people who have used Dan's new and improved plugin, how is it? Are there alternatives you would recommend instead? And BB_Wolfe, would love to hear you weigh in on this as you had a strong opinion about it before.

Fuck that shit, im behind wolfe 110%. His still is coming out shortly, and I'm hearing OFF THE MOFO HOOK stuff about it. Tbh, just wait it out - there's been a lot of work and effort put into it.
 
I reviewed Dan's plugin and still think it's great. He added some of the features both you and I discussed in that original thread and bundled an extra theme. His price for his plugin is at a premium, and apparently he doesn't need to bring it down because the market apparently is willing to pay that premium.

I never understood why BB_Wolfe wigged out, I mean I read all the posts and everything, and I even dogged BB a while thereafter (asking whenever he was dogging someone else if he didn't have a plugin he should be working on). Since then I've found BB to be a pretty decent guy and I suspect something just rubbed him wrong. If his plugin is developing and reports are that it's going to be off the chain - I look forward to it's release!

There are some other review and rating plugins out there that are becoming competitive w/ Dan's I believe, so it will be interesting to see if he does any of the following: lowers the price, adds features, or just lets it be.

With over 80% of online shoppers reading reviews before making purchases, having a system for rating and reviewing posts/products/etc. is going to be a good addition to almost any site.
 
A week or two ago BB said that his plugin was about ready to be released (within hours?) but Im not sure how serious that comment was. I haven't heard anything about it since then.
 
Guess no one searches the tubes. We laughed heartily at the pricey plugin tool and when the last thread went wacky. For our friends here at the WickedFire Porn Emporium ....Sourcebench - the web developer’s workplace Wordpress review plugin (SB_Review). Seems we thought it was doing everything Grossman was selling, but for freebie style. Not updated, but me thinks the skillful can adapt accordingly. Thank us for the efforts.

I am using the wpreviewsite plugin and here's my review:

It works well, but difficult as fuck for a non wordpress coder to deal with. Luckily I had digga come in and save the day, which I'd recommend to anyone else wanting to use this guy's plugin.

I'm impressed with it, but I'm sure there are some other things that could go into it to make it a lot better.

IMO, even with the discount, I feel like the price is too high. Especially considering the free plugins out there that do so much more than this one.

If you want to see a production level side-by-side comparison of your product vs. Dan's hit me up and I'll put yours on.
 
I bought a copy of wpreviewsite and it works great for me... I liked getting full access to all the code to tweak as needed... All im sayin is if I waited and waited for a better plugin I would have lost $$$... instead i bought Dan's plugin and it improved user bounce rate and conversions...

this has been discussed before. damn. read the fucking thread - i already linked to it. if you didn't refer to your fag ass self in the royal we (Pluralis Majestatis) tense i probably wouldn't be this pissed. fuck!

and to be clear, i'm not fan boi for Grossman's plugin - though i think it to be quality - and i've at least been able to use it. look forward to bb_wolfe's release. the wf community has been developing awesome shit for one another from scrapers to auto video sites.
 
I'm sure Wolfe will chime in once he's back from ASW and recovered from the alcohol poisoning.

I've tested Wolfe's plugin quite extensively and it definitely offers some features that no one saw coming.

Me didn't see it in this thread and we forgets about the Dan Grossman string from many moons back. So therefore, we lapses our memories. However, when said piece of stitching was fresh discourse he did indeed read it.

Still looking forward to the BB Wolfe version and for you to finally admit your sexuality, so you can cease the inner rage that plagues your inside man.

Please forgive, for not going back and reading the old dusty thread and forgeting what the new three figure priced plugin was based on. It's not as if this is high on my priority list, just tossing out what is known to be there. Ya dig?

The ability to add different review criteria to different categories looks awesome. Generating reviews - off the chain indeed.

Awesome. This is indeed the missing piece for something I am working on right now. Definitely respect the opinions of those who have previewed and posted so far, so am looking forward to what revisions might be in store.

Hurry up and unpack and beat the wife around so you can get back to work.
 
Wasn't your whole deal when you freaked the FUCK out that wpreviewsite was too expensive and you were gonna get something coded and give it out for like half?

For a basic review site the plugin is just fine and all you need. Simply worth the money. If you have some basic knowledge of html and css and wordpress templates aren't new to you, you can configure it like you want :)

If you can't make at least 10 times your money in 30 days using my plugin, you're too fucking stupid to be in AM..


WFReview + PHPBay + XMLSiteMap + 15 hours of your time = easily $1,000 your first month. You're saying that's not possible or worth it? :updown:

But seriously, it's a good V.1 plugin, you'll earn with it if you have 1/2 a brain. It's not the final solution to interwebz monies millionz, but it's a damn efficient and scalable piece of the pie!
 
This sounds like a great plugin. At the moment, I don't know if I have any use for it. But I will definitely buy it in the future to start something.
