WTF? Did PayPal change their funding options?

I don't really keep any money in my PP account. I usually just pay with a CC through them. Either they've changed something or I'm just an idiot. I used to be able to send money with a credit card but that option seems to be gone now.

Here are the options they list...
If you do not have a balance or your balance is not sufficient to fund your entire transaction, PayPal will fund your transaction, or the remainder of your transaction, in the following order:
  • Balance (if any).
  • Instant Transfer from your bank account (if you have registered your bank account).
  • Buyer Credit or PayPal Plus Credit Card.
  • Credit card/debit card.
  • eCheck from your bank account (if you have registered your bank account).

The second one is Instant Transfer which would be fine too, but it only wants to send an echeck.

WTF am I doing wrong?
 


I'm not sure exactly what the problem you're experiencing is, but I know they've been having issues the past few days with processing credit card transactions. I think it has something to do with them being a bunch of dumbasses.

I can't find the option to just use a cc for payment.

Yes the fourth option is CC. But it seems that it only goes to that if the previous options fail. I can't just pick it like I used too.

So it seems to me, that you can't chose your funding options any longer. You just hit the send button, and it runs through the options until it hits one that can fund the transaction.

edit: I just had them send me a request and still, I couldn't select a funding option. It picked for me. Either I'm a fucking retard or they've seriously fucked up the system.
 
Nah, it's there, it's just not easy to find. Look for a small text link when you hit the page that says the money is going to come out of your bank account.

Then they will lecture you on why the money coming right out of your bank account is a better thing and give you one last chance to not use the CC.
 
Could it be an amount limit thing? I just went in to send one dollar and the option was there.
I swear it wasn't there though when I tried to send $80. It used to be right there on the first page.

I've never had any problems before and have moved lots of money via PP. Something has changed...
 
I'm pretty sure you can change that order in your account somewhere. I don't use PayPal much, but I changed the order a few months back.
 
I think there is a limit on instant payments but I am not too sure what it is. I was paying instantly but it turns out it wasn't actually instant and came out of my account 2 weeks later.

When you get onto the payment screen and it says "Payment from Account xxxxxxxxx" it should have an option to choose another method in small text to the right of it.

You should be able to click there and choose a different way.

It has caught me out a few times :(
 
Paypal/eBay are shit... I've had similar problems before.

Today I got an email from Paypal telling me I'd sent an echeque to myself! (Turns out it was eBay fees from ages ago.. no idea why it went as an echeque.)
 
Did you recently change your address? Do you have a confirmed credit card and bank account added to PayPal?
