Ok so I switched the nameservers to my own personal ones one.hostril.com and two.hostril.com on February 8th for veeter.com

The damned thing's DNS is still fluctuating - or so it seems.

I could access it last night, but then a few hours after working on it she would go down.

I get access again a little later, but this morning (5 days after nameserver switch)

What would you do in this situation?

Use a proxy.

It can take up to two weeks depending on your location.

Wow shit, really?

I'm waiting to turn on the taps (facebook ads) so I hope I don't have to wait that long!

Apparently my Server guys told me it could be a caching problem with my own personal ISP - which would make sense somewhat since we are on a 100mbps dedicated connection to surf the net in my building - they probably cache like crazy.

I will try switching to google's DNS system for a few days and see if the problems continue.

Turns out it was a problem with my nameservers on the WHM end.

I had some incorrect (old) nameservers setup by default on WHM, so whenever I created a new domain, it would set it up with the incorrect nameserver information.

Edited the default nameservers in WHM and 12 hours later I have no more problems.

You may need to find the IP to the domain (do a search of google for "domain IP") then once you have found your domain's IP address go into your hosting files which is located in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host.php and enter the URL with cPanel®. and without and save the file.

This has happened to me on several occasions and this seemed to do the trick plenty of times so that I could see my site on my fresh hosting.

Thanks for the tips ramphix. I am running centos5 on my dedicated box however, and am primarily talking about WHM not cPanel. There is a similar section inside of WHM that allows you to allocate certain IPs to certain nameserver subdomains and I believe I have done that correctly. If not then I am really having problems!

All seems to be going smoothly now though, thanks for the help guys!

Damn, and I thought I was a lurker. 12 posts in 5 years ramphix? That has to be some sort of record!
