I was messing around with Google Trends and I spotted this.

When looking up the keywords trends for ...
mortgage,credit card,loan

under the Regions tab, according to google, nigerians are searching for the keyword "credit card" at least 3 times more than any other country.

If this is correct, wtf are these nigerians up to. Phishing anyone?

Here's a link to google ...
Google Trends: mortgage,credit card,loan

Here's the chart ...

Maybe the Nigerians are looking to finance that fee to unlock the bank account that holds $21,320,000 that I constantly get emailed about.

Slightly Off-Topic: a search for "nigerian scam" turns up one ad... The Rich Jerk!

Yeah, nigerian scam. Pretty infamous, you've never heard of it?

Basically, they say they have this huge fortune that they want to wire to some backaccount because they don't want to put into nigerian bankaccounts. You, the victim, would get a share and all you have to do is provide your credit data so that they can wire the money and you can keep a small percentage.

Really? Damn, guess I should stop responding to those. At least I can trust all of the paypal e-mails.

I have seen inside some 419 scammers email accounts (accidentally) and credit card fraud is rife. The have phishers out there getting peoples data, SSN#, credit card details, CCV#, maiden names, etc. These guys have card generators they pass around. Card generators can give a valid credit card for any bank, you can choose the bank!

They also try to hook gullible people through chat rooms & dating sites, then get them to launder goods bought using stolen credit cards. Basically the reason they search for credit cards is because they are all sat in internet cafes trying to buy stuff online, probably being paid to do so!
