I've always been curious about slamming traffic at a site... Does this really work to rank higher in SEO? I know the Alexa traffic rank increases, but is that really a big part of SEO? Sorry for the noob question. :/

Yes, this will certainly help ranking your website higher in SEO.
It decreases your Alexa ranking and increases PR (if you have a good content in your website), since the traffic also comes via search engine.
 
How long of a time period does the traffic come?
Ie: If I order 1000, will it be 1000 in a day or more spread out, say, 100 visitors per day?

In most occasions, 1000 visits generated within a day! Rarely it takes more than a day or 2.
 
Just a suggestion, you might want to hand out a couple of reviews to get your service going.

Also, as asked above, how spread out is the traffic? And is it segmented by niche or keyword?

Not sure how I feel about this.. TrafficHolder will sell you, probably the same traffic, for like $1.05 for 1000 hits. I'd say not worth it IMO

I don't think anyone will sell 1000 hits for $1.05. :nopenope:
