Yahoo Pipes being closed down

Could you give me a couple real life examples how a tool like this can be used?

Have you seen this? Analyses & Visualizations - #builtwithkimono

To name just a few quick areas though in addition:
  • Automated blog networks
  • Automated social media campaigns
  • Price comparison websites
  • Monitoring campaigns

A lot of people might laugh at something like Pipelines going down, but I would call them an ignorant marketer. RSS feeds are incredibly valuable for businesses who want to automate any processes to their websites or other websites and Yahoo Pipelines was top dog for quite awhile. Kimono Labs came though and allows you to create RSS feeds and API's that you can code/program with or run as is for any systems you have set up.

I created a lot of mini sites in the past with content mixed and matched and blended as much as possible using tools like Yahoo Pipes. It was such a gift. Now, apart from one residual client from those days, I'm on the other side of the fence, looking to promote my own projects. So it's great that Justin shared the Kimono tool. :cool2:

I had a look at some of the examples and there's a mind blowing collection of ideas and potential opportunities there. Just look at this description from one of the examples:
"@dillonrobinson runs a (negative) sentiment analysis on all Yelp reviews for The Burg restaurant."

Amazing. "He who has eyes to see, let him see".

Thanks again Justin.

I read some of the 'this board is dead' comments in other threads but seriously you can find some really great ideas here.

I used it in my Universities days (1 year back), sad to know about it, any one know best alternative for it?

I’m going to have to rethink a lot of my RSS feeds, as they are processed through pipes. I may end up writing my own app or just unsubscribing...
