I just set up a ringtone campaign, yes I am jumping on the wagon.
The campaign is fairly small at this point but I plan on scaling it and I am losing money now(expected that)

Anyway on to the question-I have a landing page with cell carriers and dynamic keyword insertion line"get artist name ring tones here" on top.
My click through from my landing page to the offer is about 40-45% and the conversion on the click through is just under 10%. For people who do ringtones do these numbers sound correct or to high to low?

Conversion rate is above average, landing page CTR is below average. I usually see about 70% landing page CTR and then maybe a 5-6% conversion rate.

Your end conversion rate of 4.0-4.5% actually seems to be on the high side based on my personal experience with ringtone campaigns. Of course, this depends on how prominently you are disclosing the price and your partner traffic distribution by carrier since these both have a direct impact on your conversion rates.

Just as a tip to further boost your conversions, you should try testing different configurations of your carrier buttons. Assuming you have a carrier matrix, put the more popular carriers towards the upper left (i.e. Verizon and Cingular) and less popular ones towards the bottom right. I have found this type of optimal configuration boosted conversions up by 5-10%. Also, if you are running the entire experience on your domain (carrier selection to phone number and PIN queries) via a back-end API, then I would highly recommend you to sign up with Verisign to get those conversions even higher by building up user trust in your site. Not sure how much you plan on investing into this campaign though.

Good luck.
