Is it allowable to slap youtube videos on your website and capitalize off the traffic that comes to watch those videos on your site?

I want to focus on a specific niche and post my favorite videos from youtube that have to do with that niche and market a targeted aff offer to the traffic.

Yeah, it's pretty common actually. The ability to share videos and post them on other websites is one of the reasons that Youtube is so freakin' popular.

There are lots of people who do video blogs and stuff. Just slap some youtube vids on a blog, throw up some adsense, and rake in the cash.

I've got a couple of niche video blogs that I've had up a little over a month. I've promoted them by subtle mentions and sig lines in several related forums and being generous with links back to the originator's website when it's available.

I try to stick with original videos and/or ones that have been on YouTube a long time. I also try to stick with high quality rather than just anything goes since one of the frustrations people have is trying to find good stuff on YouTube without having to sort through the tons of dreck.

I usually do 2-3 posts a day per blog and that takes about 10-15 minutes or so. They're monitized with Adsense. It started slow but are beginning to get a fairly consistant $1 a day. You might do better in other niches that are more popular or profitable or if you have an affiliate program that converts well for your niche.

What if your website/blog is primarily built around these videos? Meaning the video is the only attraction?

That's still fine. If you're using adsense you might want a few lines of content for each video just so google has something to pull ads from.

A lot of sites are doing this, yes. It's also talked about in Deliguy's excellent blog post here.

That's a guess post. Give some credit to Mark. ;)

I tried a video blog, I didn't put too much effort into it, though. :| I put an ad at the beginning and end of 20 videos (took MUCH longer than it sounds), and it ended up barely even showing. So I didn't get much traffic.

I may try again sometime, but I'm working on a video project on a much more ambitious scale at the moment.

I've just put one up and it's been the most enjoyable site to work on ever! I found I was watching a load of these vids anyway, so thought I'd make it into a site!

Been relatively slow going as I'm doing it by hand to ensure quality (and watching em all! :D)

Glastonbury Videos - Relive your Glastonbury Festival memories with videos of your favourite Glasto performances Still work in progress, esp the ads - anyone recommend any good international free ipod type shit? Will prob change template too I think.

Read that post on Eli's blog a while back but forgot about it - gonna implement some of that stuff tomo!

You can check out my video script for some ideas, I'm not tossing this out to say buy it but I'm tossing it out as an example, I've set up a whole trial website full access to those who feel like playing with the script, its located at torrentscore.com and you can access the admin panel through torrentscore.com/php/admin/admin.php the username and password should be pass and pass

There are tons of ways to go about building a video site and mentionizing it, I'm always doing them but I've got things pretty much automated for me.
