I'm just not comfortable keeping all of of my thoughts stored on their cloud.

Call me crazy, but that's just not a good approach for privacy concerns.

Interesting concept tho. Let me know when they have a stand-alone version.

I really, really liked Workflowy, but it's too easy to create tasks 10+ layers deep, which is too much of a hassle to keep clear and organized. Now I just use apps with sub-tasks, only 1 or 2 layers deep.

I am.

It is true that workflowy is only "organized" when brief. Every week or two I export whole node trees of notes to google docs as collections.

I just finish tasks, though. I recently finished all my tada-lists from 2008. Feels good, man.

I just started using it today.

Seems to work great with the Agile Results approach. Need to play test it more. The ability to toggle trees is awesome.

Workflowy got old quick. Spent more time creating and organizing tasks then working. Much quicker with a pen and a pad.

Such bullshit, Microsoft OneNote has been doing this for years, and it also stores locally and on SkyDrive (Microsoft's cloud). My Windows Phone syncs up to it automatically too.

Not feeling comfortable to use the cloud is the not comfortable to order online of 10 years ago

I've been using it for longer than Matt (10 minutes longer to be exact) So I can say with authority that this is the best damn organizational app I've ever used. Period.

I can't even begin to say how much this has changed the way I organize my work.

You know, scratch that. I haven't changed a thing. I've just finally found an app that accommodates my own brain.

Try it for an hour. If you don't get it, you're an alien.

edit: to the people saying it's causing more work: You're doing it wrong.

Wow... Matt Cutt's Testimonial is pretty convincing. I think I'll give it a try.

Yet today you wouldn't order parts to make a bomb online, would you?

(Yes, there are legit reasons to make a bomb, like removing tree stumps.)

We feel kosher about ordering coffeemakers and usually even lingerie online nowadays but most of us know that this info is being watched and we behave differently because of that knowledge.

With a mind organizational charting software saved in the cloud; it's much worse than being embarrassed about buying naughty things or getting put on the HSA watch list... Parts of your BRAIN is put out there on display, as is your business model in for some, and these things are inherently worth something if copied or studied.

If you were just using this to make a grocery shopping list; no biggie... Go right ahead. Reformatting your hard drive and need to plan out the steps involved? No problem.

But this thing looks like it invites much larger chunks of your life into the cloud. If people can see this like they do your shopping lists, then it's WORTH MORE to them. (At least for some.)

Things you wouldn't want to put out there:

1. Your business plan

2. Anything that you can be blackmailed for, such as evidence of a mistress

3. Any secrets at all, really.

It's just too inviting. In no time you guys will feel comfortable storing the combination to your wall safe on there! :costumed-smiley-013
