Article on Infowars: Big Pharma Scores Big Win: Medicinal Herbs Will Disappear in EU

Basically a new bill will be coming in to have herbals tested like pharmaceuticals, another win for big pharma YAY!

Uh, is this for when a doctor is distributing a natural substance and they want study on its efficacy for medical costs, or is Europe not going to be able to purchase some whole food vitamin C in their health food stores because they are going to burn it?

I understand that the feds are raiding natural, small food producers and they want to ultra pasteurize or gas every bit of food to reduce liability, but what is in these food bills in the US that has got people mad? I really don't know, I see this criminalizing food speech or the criminalizing distribution of a food that is deemed to have violated product claims. So, is the fear that the feds are going to introduce some insanely low bar to ban the distribution of apples or carrots? I've seen this codex alimentarious lingo thrown around, but I'm just not sure what it entails.

Are the pharms really going for it all and trying to ban all raw foods and whole food supplements or what? Any info appreciated.

Might wanna move to STS to get more interest.

I'm pretty sure you didn't read the article?

Yeah, I did look at the articles, they talked about banning and then infowars said it can undergo testing to be authorized, and while infowars may be a good place to start with research, I don't take it as gospel.

Looking at the Wikipedia entry "European Directive on Traditional Herbal products" it does appear to be a ban of a serious nature, considering they won't consider products made with isolated active plant ingredients, and this 30 year garbage. It seems quite insane, so since the deadline is approaching, we'll have to see how serious they are here and how Europeans react.

Then make it an independent panel but the scary crap that gets put in some of this stuff should be reviewed.
