I am about to start selling some templates. I want to automate this as much as possible while keeping my content secure. I've done some research, but I'm not sure what my best bet is for selling digital content.

I figured some of you ebook guys might have some ideas. What providers or scripts do you recommend for automating the purchase process while keeping your content secure from direct download?

Payloadz and Bitpass

This is something I have a little knowledge in.

I use two companies for this kind of stuff Payloadz and Bitpass. Payloadz can intergrate PAYPAL into an instant download where as Bitpass has it's own in house micropayments system.

I have mucked around with both companies, sold a few videos and they both worked well. From what I can remember Payloadz pays direct into your Paypal account where as Bit passs wants you to have $20 before they pay out, this will then get paid into your Paypal account.

there a few commercial script out there that do it with paypal's ipn (instant payment notification).

oscommerce is free and has the ability to sell as well as deliver your templates as zip files pretty securely.

the other ipn options cost anywhere from $75-$150 and there are some monthly services that offer the same thing like [SIZE=-1]PayLoadz.com, which has been around for a while.[/SIZE]

just google for paypal ipn solutions or paypal ipn or digital delivery, ect

I didn't know OS Commerce did digital delivery as well. I was considering using it, but I thought I would still have to do everything after the sell.

I have a merchant account that OSC supports. I may have to dig into it some more.

could you just install a free wordpress blog and password protect the post that has the download link?

then set up an autoresponder that gets triggered by the paypal notification.

that's the free option :)
 
oscommerce will sell and deliver the templates for you ;-)

with the blog option you still have to manually sell it.
 
I did a search on paypal IPN digital delivery and came across this site.

For $5/month, I think it's worth it. Heck, they even list your product in a Froogle Feed and offer an affiliate program. WOW.
