For this hit job on Christine O'Donnell. Same thing they did to Sarah Palin.

washingtonpost.com

Only reason the constitution even mentions religion is because it was amended in the first place (probably by activist judges)

yup, because people are lazy, want free stuff, and don't want to work for it.

These traits will always exist. The solution is to cut the supply.

If you're tired of the stray cats coming to your porch, stop putting a bowl of milk out for them. People are the same way.

Cut the supply. End entitlements. All of them.

OP it's hard to see the washintonpost article if you don't have a login so for those lazy fucks like me I believe this is similar to what he's referring to: O'Donnell questions separation of church, state - Politics - Decision 2010 - msnbc.com

"The First Amendment establishes the separation, the fact that the federal government shall not establish religion," Coons said.

"The First Amendment does?" O'Donnell interrupted. "You're telling me that the separation of church and state is found in the First Amendment?"

When Coons summarized the amendment as saying government shall make no law establishing religion, O'Donnell interrupted again: "That's in the First Amendment?"

Her comments, in a debate aired on radio station WDEL, generated a buzz in the audience.

^ That's scary.

It always puzzles me when these people try and play the "get back to what this country was founded on card" when speaking about Christianity. It's complete bullshit (check out some of the quotes below):

Our Founding Fathers Were NOT Christians

That said, fuck the Liberals who are always trying to shove their agenda down our throats. And fuck the conservatives who are also trying to shove their agenda down our throats. And fuck everyone for buying into it and propagating this 2 party bullshit that keeps all of these assclowns in power.

PS> Good to see you Turbz :)

Tough call on that link. Many were deists or unitarian, but there were many Christians. Not to say they wanted a theocracy though.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

No way in hell i'm voting for her, but my guess is neither her nor Coons really gets separation of church and state.... read up if you don't get it.

Why do some people insist on supporting these ignorant bitches that have basically proven over and over that they don't know shit about anything. (I'm obviously speaking about O'Donnell and Palin.)

Quote from the article: "O'Donnell upset Delaware's Republican establishment last month with her victory in the primary, and former George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove has predicted she will cost the party a Senate seat"

Probable quote from a few years ago: "Palin upset the Republican establishment last month with her VP nomination, and former George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove has predicted she will cost the party a Presidency "

Whoah double standard all the way, what does that mean?

Screw extremists, no matter what couleurs. And yes, rednecks who claim liberals are satanic/communists/antiamerican/terrorist-huggers are just as retarded as the average psychotic pedophile taliban.

You know, once upon a time, America was associated with freedom. Nothing much left of it. Fingerprints and biometric photos when you're just there for vacation? Awesome. Not even the Nazis used to be that paranoid...
But hey, as long as Faux News redefines the truth and says torture is okay, what does it matter?

Okay, a little off topic now, but you can hardly avoid picking on Fox News and the elaborate douchebaggerie of Glenn Beck & Co in a thread about religious nutballs...

You prefer Islamic or Jewish theocracies I take it?

Nope, I prefer a government that follows the first amendment or something like it.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The more religious Americans want to make our government the more freedom they'd take away from all of us. Many thoughtful Christians feel the same way.

Actually, a lot of what our country was founded on was Christian beliefs. With that being said, the founders had religion in the constitution to protect the state from religion.

Need we forget why America was founded in the first place? It was christians escaping persecution in Europe. Who was doing the persecuting? It was the CHURCH.

A lot of our founding fathers (not all) were christians and did not want this country making the same mistake Europe did, but they did want us to have religious freedom. So many christian haters out there think us christians want to take over the govt to take away their freedoms and setup a theocracy. That is as far from the truth as possible.

We are just better with budgets and running things because we dont spend our time and money on drugs and whores, that's all.
