I'm actually below newb status so if there is a forum for that, please point me in the right direction. I've been doing SEO for a bit now and have decided to take the plunge into PPC. I've read numerous guides and think I'm to the point where I basically need to do it, if I'm going to have a better understanding of the process. I've recently submitted applications to six different affiliate networks and was wondering how long it normally takes to get approved and do they often take on new clients who are like myself, and basically just starting out, etc? I have a couple of sites but they've never really produced any sort of monetary gain yet. Thanks for any advice in advance.

I've not had any rejections yet, but I'm not certain if they will even tell you if they're not interested. Kind of curious what the normal turn around is on acceptance or rejection. Thought about calling some of them as well and see if that might increase my chances. Maybe if they see I'm willing to work with them and have initiative - that'll increase my chances of acceptance. Is it frowned upon to call these networks before you hear anything?

My results, as a newb:

I didn't call networks, and I didn't get in.

Then I called them, and suddenly I was in.
 
Personally, I had a hard time applying for A4D because when I called, it went straight to the answering machine.

Solution: I got AIMs of the owner, who referred me to an affiliate manager. We talked for about 3 hours, and I got approved. If you can convince the network that you are determined to make them money, you will be approved.

Yeah. I just sent one of my potential AM's some messages over AIM and he seemed very appreciative and approachable to boot. Going to call some of these other networks right now and see about speeding up the process. Thanks for advice!
 
My first try I got rejected by 4, accepted by 1.

Now I have re-applied to all the networks that rejected me and got in for all 4 of them.

1. Call
2. Try to build some kind of experience so you can talk about stuff
3. Do not underestimate networking with Wickedfire members.
 
Yea,

I got into one and have been solely working with them for the time being. I'm in the process of piecing together a decent landing page using WP Thesis. Though, I'm having some minor hiccups here and there. Should I look into purchasing a pre-made landing page to cut myself some of the hassle?
 
I just got a rejection email from A4D, saying they couldn't reach me on the phone, but I was home all day? Hmm...guess I have to call. Is it like an interview? Maybe I should wait to re-apply, until I can talk-the talk...

All of this is true in my experience.

Yesterday I applied to a network and got accepted in 2 minutes without even a call.

Its the power of networking. One WF friend can make your life easier in so many areas.

Not to mention you meet a cool person in the process.
 
Awesome. Do you guys recommend using multiple PPC Platforms such as both Microsoft AdCenter and Google Adwords, etc? Or just using one at a time to push your campaign?

Well. I'v been denied by both A4D and Neverblue. I contacted them both by phone but was unable to get an actual human on the other end. I left detailed voice messages with their answering service. I hope that'll be enough for them to give me a call back and a short.
