Am I missing something here? Are these bidders idiots? Being Scammed?

Here's the auction I'm referring to:
https://flippa.com/auctions/113179/Pack-800-AutoBlogs-See-Proof-Crazy-Fast-Sale-No-Reserve

800 "Auto Blogs", that make absolutely ZERO income.
And the bid is currently over $11,000.

My guess would be that the person selling these is running a scam.
It seems blatantly obvious to me.

What am I missing here? Why are there so many bids, and so much interest on this?

Oh, and the seller is GUARANTEES that the winning bidder will be making $1/day per blog ($800 PER DAY TOTAL),
within 45-days.

That's the beauty and beast of flippa, you can sell dreams, potential, show other projects that bank as a 'you might do this too', and people obviously inflate their listings with friends/bids/just under reserve then bam.

Wow.......

This auction and sale does not come with 800 autoblogs....but rather just one domain and 800 subdomains within it. And a .info with 0 traffic to speak of so far.

Everything has been set up and is running based on the autoblogging plugin created and sold by my partners and I.

Wonder if he has a developer's license for it? ;)

It seems people are paying for the "dream" of an automated income. The assumption is that all the "hard work" has already been done for you so all you have to do is sit back and watch the money roll in.

The bid is up to $11,600 now - he's probably banking on the fact that people don't want to do the work themselves and are willing to pay an arm and a leg for "easy" money.

I'm going to watch this to see how much they sell for.

The bids astound me. I've received less bids on a website that is ALREADY earning $1,000+ per month, that basically runs itself....I just cannot believe people are bidding on this. There is NO current income, zip, zero, zilch, and it's at $11,600??

WTF?

As you say, I guess it is people who want "easy money", "the dream".

Maybe you should make an informative post in the auction thread.

I also noticed under traffic, the seller is claiming 800,000 uniques per month!

YA RIGHT! That's 1,000 uniques PER SUBDOMAIN, on completely brand new auto blogs.

I wish someone would set this seller, and those stupid bidders straight.

I dont really know, it's not my place to swoop in and act as the savior of the internetwebz.

If people are willing to throw down 5 figures on an auction without doing their due diligence and actually looking into things, then maybe they deserve whatever is coming to them.

The owner clearly lists that the site consists of subdomains in the original auction description and in the Q & A section he has said there is no traffic as of yet and everything is based of his own personal collection of autoblogs.

Not the best way to go about an auction, someone is most likely going to get screwed....but in the end its not my job to be the king of the sheeple and look into the sites for them.

I always love seeing every auction saying how much money you could make if you properly monetized it. Because why would someone smart enough to sell their website on Flippa bother monetizing their site properly in the first place.

True. I just hate to see someone lose $12,000, even if they didn't do their research, Because that $12,000 is then going into the hands of the seller.
I'd probably post something myself, but my Flippa account is very well established, several years old, with 100% feedback. And I'm afraid that if I posted
something that made this guy mad, he'd screw with one of my listings.

Looking at the listing, I think why people are bidding is because this guy is GUARANTEEING that after 45-days, you'll be making $800 PER DAY!

They say it's a "guarantee", but once they have your money not much you can do....

$292,000 per year business after just 45-days, for less than $12,000. LOL

I agree completely...you just have to watch where you stick your nose these days and what not.

The guarantee is impossible to promise, impossible to enforce. Although, it is quite possible to have that kind of success hands-off with the plugins...if all goes well and you do things properly at the start.

My overall feeling is that he is in over his head right now. I dont believe he had any idea that the auction would get this much traction, his many beds, and such a high price point. And I believe he is just as confused as the buyers are right now.

Please PM me the complete list too. 800 is quite a lot and I don't know if I want to invest over 15-20k+ right now in it, however, do you think you will ever create say 100 autoblogs with a 100/day guarantee?
Holy fuck, I need to start selling BS on Flippa. These people are dumber than Warriors.

Edit: just for fun I commented on his auction..he deleted it within minutes haha.

I can't believe people are so fucking retarded, they actually would buy 800 auto-blogs on sub-domains.

flippa is trash, it's been a fucking train wreck ever since they separated it from sitepoint. Same with 99 designs.

The problem I've been having lately, is that there are so many listings of brand new sites, that APPEAR to the newbie, to be making a great deal of money already....or that they can EASILY make $10,000+/month with.

And it's these junk listings that clog Flippa, and the really good sites aren't seen by as many. And even when they are seen, don't appear to a newbie to be as good, because the junk listings have cheapened everything.

For example, an established site making a few thousand per month in profit used to sell for at least 10x earnings on Flippa..that would make a $2,500/month site worth $25,000.

But because these junk listings have given the appearance that it's so easy to make money with their sites, it has pushed down the selling price of sites that are already making real money. Now a site earning $2,500/month is lucky to sell in the range of $10,000. Great for buyers I guess...not so much for sellers.

Had a site that was ranked #2 for a muscle-building type keyword that just got a few thousand searches and a few hundred unique hits per month.

Think it made like $300/mo depending on what re-bill I was pushing... months went by with dead links that I didn't bother changing because it made so little.

Put it on Flippa, wrote some hype filled sales copy, and it sold for the buy it now price of just under 6k.

It's all about selling the dream. But this guy can barely write so most of the bids are probably fake. Flippa doesn't give a fuck though because more bids = more cut for them when it sells.

Are we looking at the same Flippa? If you can show me legit sites that bank $2500/mo for $10k, I'll buy them all day. By legit I mean no "web design turn-key business" when I'm not a designer or "facebook like business" where the value of the business is in your friend who can supply "FB Likes" or a sports handicapping business where I know nothing about sports.
If it's something that anyone can learn, or it's a legit product that's established then those sites (which actually have value) go for 10-15x sometimes 20x income.
