Facebook likes down to zero from 900?

ok so I have an article site where in each article at the top i post a like button using this: Like Button - Facebook Developers

I have a fan page that is fine, no changes, none of my other articles have any changes in terms of numbers of likes, except for one that was really popular, went viral and went from like 50->900 a few days ago last time i checked. just viewed the article again and it said "be the first of your friends to like this". where did those 900 likes go?

i wasn't doing any spamming or anything, this was 100% legit shit. is there some limit? i didn't touch the facebook like code at all, and my 10 other articles and fan page is still working properly, just this one article isn't.

any ideas? i searched for limits and stuff on the big G but couldnt find shit.

Yes, I am sure. About 50% of the traffic is coming from a similar site where we have links with the owner, and 30% of it seems to be coming from facebook now. It seems to have gone viral, I went to sleep and now there are like 140 likes, so it is still getting traffic, I just wish the original 900/1000 or whatever it was was still there, oh well :/

But we had the like button up for about 2 weeks, had a few likes here and there, then on a similar site we got a few links, and started getting around 75/100 likes a day for that page. So if that isn't legit I don't know what is, I have another page that is similar that has around 850 likes, wasn't quite as popular as the other page but I want to prevent the same thing from happening.

Again no spam, this is unique content, nothing shady going on so I was just wondering if for some reason maybe facebook thought there was and reset the like count? I can't imagine they would though, I mean 100 likes a day doesn't seem to ridiculous, especially when there were like 1000 likes tops. But again, who knows :/
