Starting a new business development job at a big SEO/SEM company on the January 10th and since its been a couple of years since I've done pure sales, I'm looking to read up on whatever the best books that are out there on the subject.

Right now I'm reading Chet Holmes' The Ultimate Sales Machine, but so far it seems to be more geared to VPs of Sales and CEOs.

I also found this awesome MindJet mind map (or download the jpg version) on TheVault which I'm looking over.

I've also heard strong recommendations for Brian Tracy's Psychology of Selling and Cold Calling For Cowards by Jerry Hocutt.

Got any recommendations?

The Joe Girard book is almost like a feelgood read - Joe comes across as very likeable and a hard worker who you want to see succeed as the book goes on. It will only take a couple of hours to get through and is pretty light going so don't expect any groundbreaking closing routines or other magic from it. It should still be on your reading list though.

"Scientific Advertising" <-disregard when it was published. The guy who wrote it is a pioneer and a genius.
