50's 1st album is probably one of the best hip hop albums commercially released.
His mixed tapes were bananas, At that time, they were the best music being out out by anyone. he pretty much changed the game on how mixed tapes were distributed. I never seen a rapper get a buzz in the street like that guy.

I'm not even such a fan of rap/hip-hop in general, but I totally agree (except for the mixed tape stuff, never heard his stuff).
When 50cent first came out I totally thought he was a fuckin imbecile based on how slow he spoke and how his public image was presented and marketed in general with the whole "he got shot 3466456 times and is still alive, he must be the Jesus!!!" bullshit. But then after hearing some of his tracks it becomes pretty obvious that he's either got an amazing producer/sound engineer or that he's got the marketing talent bug naturally. Maybe he has both? Who knows for sure, but who cares because it seems kinda obvious to me now that the reason he came off as such a dimwit was because he was such a noob and clearly overwhelmed with going from zero to hero so fucking fast and actually being successful at something I'll bet he always wished for but likely figured in the back of his mind that it would never happened.
So I have A LOT of respek for him now. Just based on how he's grown into himself both on a public and a sorta private level (I mean he only shares what he wants you to see really). None of us know for sure unless you hang out with the dude with no cameras or hidden agendas included. I would be really disappointed tho if it turned out that this were all an act, cause he does seem a hell of a lot smarter than anyone gives him credit for, plus his 'real' personality and humor are a rarity.
As for his accomplishments, say what you guys want to about how his music sucks or whatever, totally your opinion, but I'll bet he doesn't give a fuck, because all press is good press, and all press makes this dude richer by the day based on keeping people talkin about him and spreading word about him too.

thats what I did when I was about 16 and my parents got a snowblower. I'd go ring doorbells with a shovel in my hand, agree on a price, ring the doorbell again 15 minutes later with the job done and repeat.
