Does "The Social Network" movie deserve a golden globe award?

but screenplay and score of Inception was top notch as well. Can't argue with Hans Zimmer. I think Inception will get the Oscar to be fair.

i loved the film way more then the social network...

The issue was that TSN was a more centric movie that only a few would understand. If you stand outside the movies and ask a couple of them what they grabbed from it, all that they would tell you is, "that kid made money". Ironically, on the other hand, if you ask the same question outside where inception was running, you are bound to get an answer like, "i think i may need to watch it again".

So, Globewise? Inception should win. However, if there was an award for a more niched movie, TSN gets it.

It was up against Inception and it won. Ridiculous!! Social Network was an ok, goodish movie, but it wasn't even in the same league as Inception.

Inception was absolutely my choice this year. An amazing script, with an amazing cast / director combo. And the twist / enigma of it made it worth more than what I paid at the box office.

Glad you agreed. :)

put your money on FB blindly folks, no one can snub facebook!

I'd say they little elitist definitely have more interest in giving FB an oscar these days. They can't give it to the kid actors, so they have to somehow award other aspects of the movie. I bet it won't win oscar for best movie, but it'll likely win something consolatory.

Social Network looked like one of those made for TV type movies you see on Bravo or AMC. I finally watched it on the flight back form Vegas and thought it was really bad. Whoever the Zuckerberg actor was - that was a bad choice.

that's definitely the first time i've heard this. i thought he was good, but all shit's relative anyway. TOo bad you didn't like him. Who'd you recommend -- "the real guy"? LOL

now that's what i'm talking about. you deserve a big :boid: ...that should be flattering. :)

In my opinion, definitely not .. it's just a simple story based on real events on the topic that is currently popular (read between the lines: facebook)

Social Network doesn't deserve all this attention. Inception was way better. Facebook is fucking taking over the world in every aspect.

I have not seen it yet, but i've heard it about it 3x today.... bleh may have to stop working and watch it.

I think The Social Network was awesome! Waaaay better than I expected, it deserves it.

I really liked the movie. as a matter of fact, I went and saw it on my own 'cause my gf (who happens to be a harvard law student as we speak) is currently in boston and wasn't able to watch it with me. She's arguably the biggest facebook addict... but has no desire to see the movie.

Anyway, it's a great movie and I'd watch it again. I can't help but think of all the (myspace) templates that I was working with back in the days... and saw nothing special of the kid's talent. He stole the idea from someone else. I mean, without their energy... there wouldn't have been a facebook. What goes around comes around right, and it won't be any different with Mark Z.

I wouldn't be surprise if he has social conditions down the roads, although I do wish him well.

the previews were hilarious ... justin timberlake and zuckerberg all in the club: "ITS OUR TIME!!!" ... "you made facebook???!!!" girl starts to rape Zuckerberg in the corner... so realistic
