Howdy,

I've recently invested in a Wordpress theme (that I won't mention specifically, for fear this will come across as viral), which I was hoping to use alongside my Amazon Associate account.

Anyway, when a buyer proceeds to checkout, they're prompted to fill in their contact info. But this process is within my site since the eCommerce plugin is probably more intended for businesses selling and handling their own products. So I was wondering whether it's possible to redirect them to Amazon through the checkout/basket links instead?

The other option would be to implement my affiliate link to their checkout on Amazon in the completed order autoresponder, but then they may be more inclined to give up on the transaction due to the hassle.

Basically, I'm a full retard and I bought a theme based on its appearance as opposed to its suitability for my needs, so any ideas on how to make it work would be much appreciated. Even if those ideas are mostly - "Use a different theme".

Unless there are products out there that I'm unaware of (likely), you'd have to do a huge amount of hacking to get a cart to be able to handle affiliate links. I guess it's possible, but it would take a lot of effort.

So they would "check out" through your website and THEN be directed to Amazon to actually buy their product? If that's what you're proposing, it's an awful idea.

Just rip out the cart-based code and use thte rest for your website. I do that a lot with zencart themes and stuff... rip the guts out and use the html as a front-end for my own custom-designed backends. Yes, that sounded gay.
