My SESscout Review/Experience...This is the TRUTH

i dont see why what he said was a big deal . He provides a kick ass service that had a bug for a day. The OP is a little whiny cunt, so he deserves to be called one. He apologized to the rest of us. Those complaining were mostly leeches anyway, i'd give the guy a break. SEScout has been updating constantly for the last 6 months and to have someone with 29 posts shit all over it publicly? i'd be pissed too.

I started my SEScout habit in it's early days, just after the launch.
I used the free trial version. I liked it.
Used it for a couple of weeks and decided that if i was going to really understand how google responds to actions by the hour, SEScout was the way to go and upgraded to the first level. I track enough keywords for my domains. I like how its laid out. Its easy to use. It is extremely educational.

It is also extremely nerve wracking.

I had no idea the SERPS move the way they do. I thought you get ranked periodically.

My rankings change constantly. They change by all values. Some even fall off the map. They all jump right back in too, by hundreds of points. Its wild. I don't see how any trackers that check weekly or even daily can you an accurate picture of your actual ranking.

The day all hell broke loose, I almost lost my mind. Every kw lost hundreds of spots? Then fell off the map??? Quickly checking Scroogle, i realized that the problem was most likely SEScout and posted on their WF thread.

Within a very reasonable time, the boss responded, as did many of the SESout users of their own "heart attacks"... only to be reassured that they were not alone. (The SEScout Support Group anyone ;-)

The problem was fixed relatively quickly and i was once again happily watching my stats go up... and down... and up... you get the point.

I love this program.
I have not been paid to write this.
I wish I had the balls to tell some of my clients to go fuck themselves... but i have mouths to feed and their hunger trumps my pride any day.

One request guys... how bout Links & Alexa history graphs?

Sescout is awesome, but it won't stop me from using MS rank tracker as well.

Sescout is good to keep a close eye on my importing keywords, and MS I'll update a couple times a week, which has my ridiculously long keyword lists.

I see them both working best in conjunction.

I always wondered why these threads get turned into a sorority pillow fight, complete with drama, funny ass pictures and banter. Then it just hit me "its in the shooting the shit section" Doh!

I'm 100% on the fact that SEScout is the best product on the market, but even I know what Josh said is going to cost his some thinner-skinned customers who search GOOGLE for SEScout reviews and find post #27 above.

The OP was a mega-noob that makes me want to slap him silly... But I can say that because I'm not the one offering the service. BacklinkGurus team cannot... They are a business face and we aren't in some closed membership area here for people of the exact same mindset. -Googlebot has already indexed post #27 and it'll be in the serps for many years.

Josh, please learn from this mistake! I don't want the product to go away because you can't find any new business!

Thanks. Alexa and link graphs are in development as we speak.

Sescout is fucking amazing. If you really want to get good at SEO, and understand what actually works, you need to watch the serps like a hawk and EXPERIMENT with a mass amount of keywords and sites. This is what sescout has allowed me to do. Thanks bros.

No prob brotato.

He's only discussing MS's Rank Tracker. The tool is awesome, and he knows it. However, he's just saying that if you have many sites and want to be able to look at rankings for a particular day later on, you can without having to remember to open the program and run the check.

He's not saying that you're any less successful using MS over SEscout.

Thanks for clarifying that.

yeah i second the links graph

i unconsciously look for it every couple days then remember there isnt one lol

must be a ms habit

This will likely be implemented in v2.4

Hey everyone this is Joshua (creator and lead programmer).

The good news is that I redesigned the way we collect our data and it's now close to as accurate as it can get. In all of our tests so far, we have found almost 100% accuracy. I have test accounts at all major(and small) SERP trackers and no one else's data lines up as accurately as we are seeing at SEscout right now. I KNOW that we will still have issues, but I'm really excited about the changes and only wish it didn't come at such a great cost.

I think that the above quote is the most important part of Joshua's post. Going forward the results are going to be more accurate than ever.

I find that Joshua and Ryan are always listening to their customers and soliciting feedback from us. They changed their pricing model after getting feedback from their users. They added Bing and made their Dashboard more user friendly and I'm sure that was mostly based on user feedback.

They could have sat back and not made any changes or improvements to SEscout; just marketed the product and collected our Monthly$$$$$. I'm pretty sure that would have been much easier and less grief than spending their time and energy improving SEscout. I am very happy that they made these improvements and if there was a little down time because of it than I am fine with that.

The OP was a Douche Bag for even starting this thread :thefinger: and was totally out of line. I am a happy SEscout user (paid account) and couldn't live without it (I might be able to go a couple of days without it, which i recently did this past week). Anyways, Josh and Ryan keep up the good work, your product rocks and I like the new features and looking forward to even more improvements in the future. I just wanted to jump in and give you guys some props since the whole reason this thread was started is bullshit and out of place.

Joshua, I don't know anyone who doesn't get back to me within 24-hours unless there is a death in the family or the electricity went out.

Not a very "cool" or "professional" tone. You may want to take the high ground and just give a sincere, honest reply & leave it at that. But true colors come out in unusual ways.

Hey everyone this is Joshua (creator and lead programmer).

This is a very interesting thread. Honestly, I wanted to fucking hunt down the OP and cut his balls off when I first read this... BUT the reality is that we fucked up, so it's expected that we will get shit for it especially since a lot of really successful SEOs have taken us in as a daily tool and trust our data. Still, it's really shocking how many of you sent us emails telling us to go fuck ourselves right out of the gate. The funny thing was, it was mostly free users yelling at us. I'm still trying to understand that...

Unfortunately, some changes that I made in the early morning before finally passing out caused this bug. When I finally came back to the land of the living, hell had already broken loose and there wasn't a conscious decision not to notify everyone of the error in data. Ryan and I did our best to communicate with everyone, but the reality is that there is no right way of doing so. To those complaining that writing a blog post about the issue in our "News" section isn't a good way of passing on data to our users... frankly you're stupid and I hate you :). The fact that the data was wrong pretty much means that everyone is so pissed that no amount of communication will fix it. Only a FIX will fix it, and thats what I spent all day doing :)

I can honestly say to anyone who complains about our customer service: who the fuck are you comparing us to? In my experience it's extremely rare with any web service to get a response back inside of 48 hours and it's usually some generic bullshit sent to everyone when it does come. We USUALLY get back to every form of communication with us inside of just hours (if not minutes)...

Im sorry for all of the hassle. I wish it wouldn't have happened this way. (insert a plethora of extremely obvious excuses of why we actually are doing a great job compared to others that no one gives a shit about here) I have huge plans for SEscout and it's my goal to make it so amazing that comparing a product like MS to it is blasphemy :)

Again, SORRY SORRY SORRY go fuck your self OP

I see no purpose in posting whether or not you will be subscribing to SEscout on the basis of Joshua's response. It's funny to me that a simple post can sway a person into not using the product simply because you disagree with his stance. This isn't politics, it's a product.

When Steve Jobs told people they were "holding it wrong" in response to the iPhone 4 antenna issue, did any of you grab your iPhone and smash them to the ground? I'd imagine not.

Anyways, I'd like to avoid making this the main thread of discussion regarding SEscout (updates/fixes/requests etc.) as it seems somewhat silly. If you have something to request/report head over to the main thread.

P.S. v2.4 is live.

Ok the new backlink, alexa, and PR graphs are pimp. You guys have really out done yourselves here.

This is crazy, I'm going koo koo for cocoscout.

I can't get enough. If you took SEscout away from me and I had to manually update my rankings with TrafficTravis or something equally abysmal I would be a potential physical threat to myself or those around me. I would take hostages and my only demand would be "give me my SEscout back, coppers"

Unfortunately we cannot sacrifice free SEscout usage for a human life.

Hey Ryan, great service you have.

I tried the free version but I opted to sign up for SEOMoz's Rank Tracker instead since they could track Yahoo, Bing and rankings from local servers.

When would you be able to put these features in? If you would have these features and have a competitive price then I'll surely sign up!

To be completely honest, yahoo would be all but pointless now. What do you mean by "rankings from local servers"?

SEOmoz = hype + $99/month.

If anything I prefer companies who call cunts, cunts. Pussification is getting out of control.
