My SESscout Review/Experience...This is the TRUTH

...I tried the free version but I opted to sign up for SEOMoz's Rank Tracker instead since they could track Yahoo, Bing and rankings from local servers.
Dude, You CAN set localization with SEScout, and they DO track bing. -And Pagerank, and Backlinks, and alexa, etc... The only thing SEOMoz's ranktracker does more is track yahoo... Which is pointless now that's it's Binghoo.

You sure about that? Yahoo might be serving Bing data but yahoo serp != bing serp, at least not for the thousands of terms I track.

Well it's not official, but I actually still have an old tracking service for the domains that have been tracking for years, (one I had programmed for me like SEScout from rentacoder, to run on my own host) and it is tracking bing and yahoo together very closely.

On a typical domain I'll see the exact same placement for 4 out of 5 days with the two, and the day that's off will only be 1 or two spots off. -I have no idea why this is so but it always snaps back the next day.

This is very typical. The only time I've noticed discrepancies between Bing and Yahoo is when Bing implements some of it's own adblocks or sponsored pages into the results. It's quite inevitable that the two will be an exact clone of each other in the very near future. At this point in time it would be more of a time-waister to implement this especially when we have so many other cool things in development right now.

Pr0xyhub, WTF do you know about it?

Some of us "sescout people" might find it a valuable tool that simple cannot be replicated elsewhere without a far greater expense.

Did SEScout save humanity from an Alien onslaught?

No. Not yet at least.

Did SEScout save me some bucks while giving me even more of a competitive advantage?

Without a doubt in the world.

In fact over a year ago I had a programmer make something very much like SEScout for me to run from my own hosting servers, just to track my own keywords... That cost something like $700 to build and it was ugly, twitchy, and had about 10% of the functionality of SEScout.

But even then, when I threw a bunch of KWs in it to track I found out the hard way that it gets expensive keeping up with the proxies and the hosting IP addresses, etc... Fooling google in general was simply a game of diminishing returns.

In the end, I just couldn't track that many KWs. Then SEScout came along and these guys are offering something far better that works.

So do some research first before you trash one of the better products in the WF marketplace. There are plenty of crappy products here that deserve your ridicule. This is not one of them.

Thanks Luke. We don't make any unreasonable claims about our service, nor do we expect everyone to love us. If you have input that you think would help improve it then by all means let us know. Otherwise comments like "LOL RANKTRACKER IS SO MUCH BETTER" are better left unsaid and just make you look rather silly.

I was referring to the people behind sescout, not the users. Sorry I wasn't clear and made you waste your time typing all that out.

Yes I have. I mean its a good service for the price, but that doesn't change the statement you're quoting. I still find it funny.

You think it's funny someone with a product to sell might hype it up and promote it with enthusiasm?

Is there a better, more accurate, rank tracking service out there with as many or more features at a similar price that you can think of?

Ranktracker is better, and cheaper over the long run. But SEScout is cool because it's browser based and you don't have to fuck with proxies.

To clarify (once again) yes, in the manner they are. Hyping something up is one thing, but acting as if your service is a gift from god (when it's obviously not) is hilarious to me.

Sucks to be you. $700 and it's sketchy as fuck. BLAM! :arcadefreak:

In all fairness it's not a simple matter to scrape the serps, it is actually quite a programatic problem.

If you have suggestions to make it better, by all means let us know. Otherwise, I find it rather hard to follow what you're on about...you certainly seem to be the only one laughing.

There are others, trust me. No suggestions, good service.

Figured I'd put this here as well....
