So I'm trying to get a landing page approved, and I'm told that I need to remove some of the "exaggerated claims". I reply that none of the claims are exaggerated, but actually backed up by fact. I'm not claiming anything miraculous here, and nothing that other approved sites don't already have on their pages.

I ask what exactly it is that I need to tone down. Their reply is "we can't tell you, but you need to do it". :boid:

sometimes other advertisers get away with shit b/c they spent a lot more money

May not be worth it for this campaign, but I've found that having a fancy-looking web 2.0 design, and a few PR releases (think: PR web) online really helps with some things.

I learned this running campaigns for a Groupon clone where we were breaking a bunch of Google's rules, and would have got slapped to high heaven if it was a normal AM looking site, but we don't have any problems.

I just send Google to a legit looking lander / site using tracking 202 and then switch in the link to the lander I want after the campaign is running (they might go back and fuk you over for this though, but so far so good for me).

Just make a copy of your lander, get rid of the claims, send Google there using tracking 202 and then once its running switch in the link to your other lander.

There must be some cloaking software around that makes this easier + more bulletproof, like cloaking by IP.
