Perhaps. But I would never be able to justify voting. To vote is to support a violation of property rights.
Jake,
Not like you give a shit about my opinion but not voting because one feels that it won't make a difference, is like letting someone beat the shit out of you, without fighting back, because he's bigger and will whip you anyway. It is the attitude of a defeatist and if done, in mass, one of the quickest ways to ruin our Republic that I can think of, a cop out, to the extreme.
..................and yes, if you don't vote, then STFU and eat the shit they feed you without complaining about it. Non voters forfeit the right to be taken seriously, in any political debate.
To many good men and women have given their life to give you the 'right' to vote.
Honestly, from reading many of your thoughtful posts I'm a bit 'surprised'.
Most likely candidates to run on the right are these guys, right?
Huckabee
Bachmann
Palin
If any of them run they will lose it.
Nah. You're right about any of them running being losers. The Republicans will field Romney.
On an outside chance Gingrich might win the nomination.
As to not voting, wouldn't it be better to campaign for something like a "No vote" selection on the ballot?
I believe Jesse Ventura was trying to get momentum behind an idea like this a few years ago.
I encourage you to read the piece I linked to previously. I also recommend that you to read this piece. Both pose arguments that dovetail with my position on voting.
I haven't the time or motivation to discuss this in great detail on an anonymous forum.
On the contrary, voting perpetuates a state that takes private property away from individuals. I refuse to support that.
I'm in. Check this out, Rexibit.![]()
