Is Libya really the right thing to do?

Aren't lobbyists just people hired by rich assholes, or rich assholes themselves who make a case to congress to try and get favorable legislation past. How would you fix that?

Yes, Lobbyists are assholes hired by rich assholes. (Corporations usually, but sometimes by more nefarious groups like illegal whole-industry conspiracies.)

The problem, which you should now see after checking out that film, is that the corporations are (through their lobby of your puppet government) wholly in control of the laws. -You don't have a prayer of getting a law or resolution that is good for the people passed if it means some corporation will lose $1 over it... Or even thinks it might.

Fixing it? I don't see any way other than revolution at this point. Honestly that probably won't work either (didn't work in 1939!) and personally prefer to country-hop a lot... Like many others on this board. Just keep moving... The WHOLE world isn't as bad as what we've got here, lots of northern Europe is far better in many respects but there are obviously tradeoffs.

I myself against it and think that it is only the reason to take the oil.
In amercans i think it's 50/50 some agree, some disagree.

But muslim are hundred % against! in NYC there a lot of muslim people. So i talked to one guy(Deli owner) and he is pissed of.

Wow you talked to one Deli owner? Yep he represents all Muslims.

This is probably the one action in the last 20 years by the U.S in the Middle East that actually has broad Muslim support. In fact, it might actually be good for the U.S image in the Muslim world, something the U.S badly needs. Do you notice the lack of crazy protests against this in Pakistan, Indonesia, Iran and the rest of the Muslim world??

Careful with that crazy talk around here.
I know... I might summon a HellBlazing Demon or the like. ;)

It just drives me crazy sometimes how so many americans think that they want a tiny little government that basically makes roads and nothing more. -But when you try to take away their social security or investor's tax breaks... Holy shit, it's revolution time!

The worst part is though; They don't seem to be aware at all how the more you reduce government, the more direct control corporations have over your every decision. There must be a balance.

At the ballet box, we're fucking wasting our time with representatives. What it should do is ask us to choose between:

1. Too much Government -> (Big Brother state)

2. Balanced government with Private sector -> (What we have now, minus all the lobbyists)

3. Too much Corporation -> (Absolute evil, Hitler style, Plus Facebook still can make you live in a big brother state.)

So US doing it for democracy?) again?)

Arab League ministers to reject military intervention in Libya.

I think US wants it much more than Arab League. One more time OIL.

Arab League does support it - they asked for it.

FT.com / Middle East & North Africa - Arab League reiterate support for Libya action

Gulf Arab States Defend Military Action in Libya - WSJ.com

And as far as the oil, Libya supplies a very small percentage of oil to the US, and the US has already said it isn't going into Libya, just helping with the NATO lead air strikes to enforce the no-fly zone. France and the UK are leading the charge on this one.

Unarmed Gunman, i can't understand America has a lof of $$$ to spend on wars? the economy is so good that the desided to make some action? To much money - send them to Japan!

Any US military action is "investment". At least, after, US gonna choose the "right" president. Right = proUS. It's politycs, polytics = big money.

Agreed?

Agreed - the US is out of its fucking mind getting involved in this shit. It's a horrible idea and completely hypocritical of the US government (as usual). I'm just saying the Arab League asked for help. If I was in charge I would have politely declined and let someone else play the world police force for once. But Obama promised change, so this is what we get.

THIS

this is what people SHOULD be saying about the libya actions by the US. NOT OIL. This isnt about oil - but should the us be helping when they need to fix their economy (not to mention the us's help is not needed, pleny of other nations have adequate military forces to do whatever is needed)

Oil dependency sucks balls.
Oil DEPENDENCY is a myth. We aren't fucking dependent on anyone for their oil... Any politician that uses the phrase dependency has just outed him/herself as being in on the conspiracy.

All we have is Power Conquest through Oil Depletion.
